POPSSuspension Lifted for 1st grader Finally a common sense decision. When i read about this yesterday it made my blood boil and i did email the school. More people should express their pinions, sometimes it helps. Not that they paid any attention at all to my rambling. But i did point out that schools have gone to far. IT'S one thing to protect our kids but common sense needs to be used as well. Otherwise the terrorists did accomplish their mission by placing this country in such a paranoid state we may as well have let the Nazi's win. "Do as we say and like it" is what i thought we we fighting against in Arab world and other countries. Point is never feel complacent and like anything you have to say don't matter. Maybe as single input it don't but when merged with hundreds of others people take notice. Speak up and fight for what you think is right otherwise we are no longer a free country. Rather led by the hand being told what and what not to do.

POPSNewark Mayor Puts Conan O’Brian On Newark "No-Fly List" From the comment section (on youtube): Of course this is a playful joke, and nothing more. I think this video's awesome. Shows the mayor has a sense of humor - I doubt he was serious that conan's on a no fly list. Conan knows how to take a joke, and so does Mayor Booker

POPSSweatshop Slavery in Jersey Sex slavery usually gets the headlines and is serious - to be sure - but most modern slavery involves labor slaves to supply many of us with what we thought were legitimate low cost goods and services at places like Wal-Mart who spends way too much in trying to appear family friendly of late since we and they have practically underwritten much of the outsourcing of what used to be jobs in the US. Rant done, its - grin - safe again.

POPSNTSB: Controller didn't warn plane in midair crash Three factors are usually contributing to any catastrophe: negligence, recklessness (kind of boasting stupidity) and bureaucracy. If controller was on the phone and his supervisor ran somewhere - so it was routine practice for everybody in this airport. I am pretty sure pilots used this airport have a lot to say, although they also could prefer to keep their mouth shut since it is private planes in private businesses. It was said before that pilots of helicopters check for each other in the air. There is no any other control system besides pilots, covering their asses? Sound like bad joke, but if it is what was said...

POPSAre Our Markets Being Manipulated By "Rogues" Or Firms?
“Sergey Aleynikov, an ex-Goldman Sachs computer programmer, was arrested July 3 after arriving at Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey, U.S. officials said. Aleynikov, 39, who has dual American and Russian citizenship, is charged in a criminal complaint with stealing the trading software. At a court appearance July 4 in Manhattan, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Facciponti told a federal judge that Aleynikov’s alleged theft poses a risk to U.S. markets. Aleynikov transferred the code, which is worth millions of dollars, to a computer server in Germany, and others may have had access to it, Facciponti said, adding that New York-based Goldman Sachs may be harmed if the software is disseminated.” The next sentence is particularly eye-opening: “The bank has raised the possibility that there is a danger that somebody who knew how to use this program could use it to manipulate markets in unfair ways,” Facciponti said.” J.S.
