POPSNIES Kids' Pages - Sing-Along Songs Midis & Lyrics Cool government web site that has all sorts of stuff for kids, one of those things being an index of lyrics and tunes to Sing-Alongs. I have been having a blast finding songs we used to sing at the summer picnics my neighborhood (Capital Hill, Seattle, Wa) used to have in the 70's. They were hosted by the Bullit sp? family, former owners of KING 5 TV. I just happened to be lucky enough to be best friends with someone who lived accross the street from them. We always sang songs when it started getting dark. I have a lot of good memories about those picnics. They were nice people too. One year they paid for me to go to summer camp because my family couldn't afford it. We didn't ask, I think they heard if from one of my friends.

POPSOldies Remember: One Man's Sacrifice of Fame. I know I'd never have had the 'balls'. If he had known how badly America would treat him subsequently, I doubt if he would done it so blatantly either. What sacrifice! Yes, with time America forgave. Just like it forgave THE elite sportsman of the 20th century, ALI. He too had to suffer first for his colour. Must they first become the heroes of the World before being heroes in America? "Back home he were subject to abuse and he and his families received death threats. POPSMath + religion = Trouble
Count John Allen Paulos among the non-believers. A mathematician who teaches at Temple University in Philadelphia and who has popularized his subject in bestselling books such as Innumeracy and A Mathematician Reads the Newspaper, Paulos's latest offering is a slim but explosive volume whose title is self-explanatory: Irreligion: A Mathematician Explains Why the Arguments for God Just Don't Add Up (Hill & Wang). This newest addition to the neo-atheist field crowded by the likes of Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris and others emboldened by the recent transformation of non-belief from a 97-pound weakling into a he-man, Paulos thankfully employs little math, preferring to see things, as he tells us, in the stark light of "logic and probability." Deploying "a lightly heretical touch," he dissects a playlist of "golden oldies" that includes the first-cause argument (sometimes tweaked as the cosmological argument, which hinges on the Big Bang), the argument for intelli

POPSOlder Men (and Women) Trying Not to Be Angry This makes a lot of sense. The radical fringe has had its way for too long, and its time for a new era of bi-partisenship. As the article points out Bush and his partner Karl Rove have been riding the wave of "divide and conquer" for the past eight years. Every step of the way they have pandered to the "Base" and the Basic Insticts of those who don't have the good of the country in mind.....just the good of whatever ideology they believe in. They have been willing to sacrifice real values and replace them with their own prejudices. Most of the time Karl Rove just looked for a way to win elections...he was very good at it. I have been angry for a long time, but its time for a change....let's get it together....for the good of the country and our children and grandchildren!
