POPSParis To "White-Haired Dude" --- "What Ever" Most astonishing of all, Big Media (the broadcast and cable networks, The Associated Press and major newspapers) continue their near-total blackout of reporting on a story that broke in the National Enquirer on July 22, well before we went on vacation -- where the tabloid's reporters and a photographer staked out a Los Angeles hotel where former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards allegedly visited his rumored mistress. You can read or hear all about it in the British press, online bloggers, Internet Web sites (including the Huffington Post and most exhaustively on Mickey Kaus' blog), the usual right-wing radio suspects. Even late night comics like Jay Leno are starting to joke about it. But don't expect a word of it to pass the lips of Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric. POPSDaily Comic Aggregator For someone like me, who loves his comics, this is a great resource! There's a lot of these sites online, but this one particularly caught my eye. Has some of my favourite strips (which aren't as common as Garfield, Hagar) like Zits, Foxtrot, Ctrl+Alt+Del... Updated daily, so keep going back!

POPSCancer is Funny? "Don't expect Planet Cancer to go saccharine any time soon. Adams said the group will continue to infuse wit and pop culture into its work – just the way its fans like it."

POPSDeath And The Maiden - online comic series (Nina Ruzicka, Austria) This is the beginning of a - yes: a relationship between Death and Mercedes, a girl in her early twenties. It is a comic series that made me laugh a lot, but I found it thought-provoking and touching as well. Part I contains 146 episodes, and I couldn't stop reading them from the beginning to the bitter end. *Sigh* ________________________ Deutsche Fassung hier und dort .

POPSUGO's suggestions for upcoming superhero movie casting UGO (UnderGround Online) has a list up suggesting actors to play marvel superheros in movies that, apparently, are in consideration for being adapted to the screen. There's like 5 mentioned in the article, but because of my great fondness for Thor, this one caught my eye. I have to agree, Karl Urban would do a nice job in the role, though I also think his former LotR co-star Viggo Mortensen could do a nice take on it as well - especially if you want to go for a bit of and older, more world-weary hero.
