POPSJohnny Hodges Portrait - Limited Edition Print A true artist possessing one of the most beautiful tones heard throughout jazz, altoist Johnny Hodges formed a style all his own early on in his career which he held to steadfastly through the decades. In Ellington’s eulogy of Hodges he said: “Never the world’s most highly animated showman or greatest stage personality, but a tone so beautiful it sometimes brought tears to the eyes - this was art and music of Johnny Hodges.” Hodges is immortalized in this limited edition print by the artist Frederick Brown as part of a series called Portraits of Music I Love.

POPSvery best 2 piano nocturnes in these very days Dang Thai Son is a member of the jury of the prestigious international Arthur Rubinstein piano competition in Tel-Aviv. i couldn't find a good source to clip, but it is worthwhile to read his amazing life story from being a refugee in the 70s in north Vietnam with his persecuted parents suffering hunger & poverty, through his meeting with his savior, a Rusian pianist Isaac Katz that succeeded 2 send him to Moscow music conservatory and then later becoming the first Asian to win the Fredric Chopin piano competition in Warsaw 1980.

(J. W. v. Goethe, Harzreise im Winter) ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
