POPSHillary Clinton: US Wants Israel To Stop Building West Bank Settlements 'Forever' But Clinton has had to do a lot of explaining since last Saturday, when she stood with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and praised his offer to limit settlement construction without halting it. Clinton has since tried to clarify the remarks, saying that the Israeli offer does not got far enough. Still, she has indicated that the Palestinians should resume negotiations with Israel without a full settlement halt as they demand.

POPSGoodbye Palestinian State
The chief negotiator for Palestine in the Eviction Talks (definitely NOT "peace talks,") with Israel says it might be time to give up the two-state solution. Of course the negotiations were a charade and this is the USA-puppet Palestinian government, not Hamas, but still it rings out as a profound statement, a "thinking of the unthinkable," for Palestinians, a clear declaration of surrender. Thus, the Israeli Eviction Talks seem to be moving along well for them. Erekat seems to miss the point on that. He thinks there will have to be a One State Solution, with Jews, Christians and Muslims all living happily together. Oh my. That is not in accord with the Israeli Eviction Notice. And where does Erekat get the idea that the U.S. will come to Palestinian aid? How long and how much do you have to beat up some people before they get the message? -- The U.S. is on the side of Israel (giving cash, weapons, support for Zionism at home and in the UN). Maybe an "Aineisa," will

POPSJewish Settlers Move Into East Jerusalem Home, Evict Arab Family Israel has built homes for more than 180,000 Jews in new east Jerusalem neighborhoods since the 1967 annexation. The U.S. and others have criticized Israeli settlement in east Jerusalem and urged Israel to stop evicting Palestinians and demolishing their homes there, saying such moves disrupt peace efforts.

POPSMore USA-ME Double Talk
The USA pretenses for ME peace stumbled a few days ago when Sec. of State Hilary Clinton was praising Israeli's latest sham offers to maybe-someday-for a while, perhaps slow down construction on new settlements. She called this sham an "unprecedented offer," and then tried to press the Palestinians into accepting it as enough good faith to renew so-called peace talks. But even the puppet Palestinian government said no: Freeze all settlement expansion now is their condition to restart so-called peace talks. This Israeli favoritism also angered every Arab who could read. So Clinton had to backtrack, double-talk and was given a script to read: this clip. The truth is Israeli's policy is to kill as many Palestinians as necessary, destroy their homes, farms, industry, water and power supplies, sacred sites -- hinder travel and work, starve the Gaza strip to death until all Palestinians give up and move out. That IS the policy. Negotiations should be called: Eviction Talks,

POPSNUKE GAZA: A WORLD GONE MAD "Not since 1948 has this enclave of extremists mounted such a public relations offensive. Christian Zionist President Harry Truman trusted Jewish Zionist lobbyists when he solicited assurances that they would not become what they immediately became: a racist theocratic state with an expansionist agenda destined to create serial crises in the region. The merciless global agenda pursued by Colonial Zionists is the single greatest threat to world peace, as confirmed yet again by Lieberman’s warning. As the primary remaining ally of these Jewish nationalists, the risks to the U.S. increase with each passing day as Tel Aviv works behind the scenes to catalyze yet another conflict. This entangled alliance was destined to provoke resentments that would eventually endanger their super power ally and foremost arms provider. "

POPSObama caves to the Zionist Lobby He was doing so well, but then he backed down on his insistence that Netanyahu freeze all settlement building in occupied Palestine. It seems Obama spoke a good game, but he's had his spine removed. Read the whole story at source.

POPSUN calls on Israel to halt demolition of Palestinian homes
“The UN reiterates its call for an immediate and unconditional halt to such actions and urges the State of Israel to protect the civilian population in oPt from further displacement and dispossession.” Israel occupied the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, in the 1967 war and annexed the latter in a move not recognized internationally. According to Israeli authorities house demolitions are carried out on homes that have been built without official building permits, rendering them “illegal.” But, OCHA said, “lack of adequate planning combined with strict administrative requirements and high fees makes it extremely difficult for Palestinian residents to obtain such permits, leaving them no choice but to build ‘illegally’ to provide shelter for their families. Palestinian families who move outside the municipal boundaries risk losing their Jerusalem ID cards, and with it the right to live in and access the city.” [/quote}

POPSDid you know??????????????? It’s common amongst lefty bloggers to rail Israel for what they’re doing, and I don’t think I’ll buck the trend, here. It’s not a discussion of who’s “right” in the fight, it’s fairly well established that both sides are taking hardline stances on what a proper endgame would be, but a matter of who’s doing what.

POPSGoldstone challenges US over Gaza report The United States has criticised the Goldstone report into Israel's war on Gaza, calling it one-sided. In an interview with Al Jazeera's Shihab Rattansi, Justice Richard Goldstone challenged the US government to justify its claims that his findings are flawed and biased. Goldstone said the attacks on him have become personal and he believes most critics have not even read the report.

POPSNow Pakistan - Sequential Destruction of Muslim Nations Many Western policymakers rarely see Muslim nations, including allies, with any inherent respect. Vice President Dick Cheney described the Muslim world as "brute and nasty." Obama advisers, though more guarded in their word choices, see Muslim nations no differently. The idea that Islam is inherently violent, openly expressed during the Bush administration, continues to animate foreign policy. The White House holds a new President but Congressional leadership and Washington policymakers are more or less the same. Anti-Islamic policies of warfare and destabilization are intact.

POPSTop Ten Reasons to Give Back the Peace Prize Reason Number Three: The US Continues to Ignore Israeli nukes, while it acts as banker, diplomatic cover, and armorer its brutal Israel's sixty year occupation of Palestine. Reason Number Two: The US is Funnelling Billions Into Expanding Its Military Presence Across the African Continent. Reason Number One: It just ain't right.

POPSAmreeka: The Movie As luck would have it, Muna has come to the US at the start of the Iraq War. Anti-Arab sentiment is raging in some quarters. Her brother-in-law, a doctor, has lost patients due to backlash, and her sister is quickly losing patience with the hatred and fear that mars their lives. Though educated and with experience in banking, Muna is unable to find work in her field, but knowing that she must become independent, continues to search for employment, finally finding a job at a local fast food restaurant. Tensions build as Muna, ashamed, tries to hide her place of work from her son and sister; as Fadi deals with bullying bigots at school; and as her sister's family begins to unravel in response to the pressures of the war, and the enormous hardships resulting from anti-Arab bias. Through it all, Muna not only survives, but remains hopeful and thankful for each kind gesture from strangers and new-found friends who come to her assistance in ways small and not so small.

POPSWhat's Become of the Jewish-Zionist Press?
Today it is precisely this realization that leads me to refuse to serve. I cannot recognize the humanity of Israelis but not that of Palestinians." The two women, both 19, were invited to campus by the Brandeis Students for Justice in Palestine. The same day the women will also appear at Harvard and Northeastern universities... Am I imagining that at one time two such people, brought to campus by such a group, would have been treated as a shameful matter? That perhaps a paper like The JEWISH Advocate would have provided the context for readers to understand this, rather than giving them a straight-up second page bit of publicity? Is shame dead? Are we supposed to admire these girls for standing up for the wrong values and spreading lies? Or have we no values any longer? Can we no longer call a lie for what it is? And look how this supposed Zionist newspaper treats anti-American and anti-Israeli leftist groups Code Pink and Jewish Voice for Peace:

POPSJ Street New Washington, DC Superstar? J Street has grown in influence very quickly. One of the prime reasons, I believe is that in the past 40 years peace never got close to settling the land and right to return questions or how an independent Palestine could be viable. The current 20-40 year old group have very little willingness to go slow about getting to yes. To them a year is a long time. Whether they have staying power is the big question but building momentum for change - yes they have!

POPSNetanyahu's speech / Cheapening the Holocaust And if we can compare a poorly equipped terrorist organization to the horrific Nazi killing machine, why should others not compare the Nazis' behavior to that of Israel Defense Forces soldiers? In both cases, the comparison is baseless and infuriating. Netanyahu began the speech as if he were chairman of the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial - Holocaust, Holocaust, Holocaust; his family and his wife's family. Then he spoke in Shimon Peres' terms, proposing a "rosy future" to humanity. No less demagogic was his attack on the Iranian regime. They shoot demonstrators there, he protested vehemently. As if they don't do that in our Bil'in and Na'alin. Then came the kicker: Operation Cast Lead was a pinpoint attack. Israel telephoned thousands of people to tell them to leave their homes. Where to, Mr. Prime Minister? Into the sea? He said the IDF, which killed nearly 1,400 Palestinians, mostly civilians, exhibited unprecedented restraint.

POPS"Global Islamic Terrorism." "Global Islamic Terrorism." --- the phrase of the New Crusades, the propaganda for long term worldwide war Sounds pretty slick. Rolls off the tongue easily. Doesn't take much thought. Creates a nice evil image of the enemy. But...Palestine is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Afghanistan is not fighting for Islam. It's fighting for it's homes. Iraq is not fighitng for Islam. It's fighting to get it's country back from invaders who started the war based on deliberate fabricated lies. I hope more of us wake up to this and point it out, put it down where and when we see it: we're being sold a false bill of goods....the USA declaring worldwide wars outside the bounds of it's own Constitution, and using lies and propaganda and a one-sided view of who's right and excusing all it's own wrongs. ONE AND A HALF MILLION PEOPLE KILLED IN IRAQ! - someone said at the UN podium yesterday. And not one WMD. Who's the real terrorist? The real warmongers. T

POPSObama Speaks at United Nations Somewhat low key. This article/clip is a reasonable summary. Unfortuantely there is a joke in U.S. politics about "that depends upon what your definition of 'is,' is." -- meaning, on specific issues - is his objection to 'nukes,' in Iran and North Korea objections to nuke weapons or also objection to Iran's nuclear power program (which is legal and in accord with the UN IAEA). Does he desire for reducing nukes and being honest with nukes include the "secret," nuclear weapons of Israel that somehow always fail to get mentioned. Surprisingly firm, while committed to Israel's security he said the increase in Israel settlements was "illegitimate." - a rather firm statement and talked about the 1967 borders of Israel, and how Palestine needs a "contagious," free and real independent state. But none of these things would seem acceptable to Israel at all, their "peace terms," clearly sounding like "we go on with aggression and expansion," statements.
