POPSWhy The Media Should Apologize To Sarah She gave a really good speech. And why go beyond that? As we all know, speeches cannot be written by others and rehearsed for days. They are true windows to the soul. Unless they are delivered by Barack Obama, that is. In which case, as Palin said Wednesday, speeches are just a “cloud of rhetoric.”

POPSDemons in our Midst:Facing the Tyrant Inside and Out
(cont.)It took me a long time to recognize that truly demonic energies are operating in our world right now. I was as unwilling to acknowledge the demonic as the next person. "Demonic" was not a word in my vocabulary, nor was "evil." I thought that people who used those words were projecting and ought to look at their own behavior. However, personal as well as global circumstances have compelled me to try to understand these energies and how to combat them. We live in a world where deceit, duplicity, and mass delusion seem nearly all-pervasive. We cannot rely on the mainstream media to tell us what we most need to know, the truth; we cannot believe the politicians; we can't trust our electoral process; and half the country seems to be under a hypnotic spell induced by sub-rational mesmerism. Our lives are increasingly being corralled by a maniacal, irresponsible administration that uses lies and fear to rationalize its assaults on our rights and freedoms, our economy and environment

POPSPathetic MoveOn.org Propaganda They bought AdWords ad to let people order free sticker (although if you pay you can get more). The pathetic part comes in the counter that is nothing but some math-based calculation and has no reflection on real orders. What a bunch of losers.

POPSThree White People Who Won't Be Voting For Barak Obama People still keep talking about how racism among "working class whites" (that's media code for "po' white trash") will not vote for Obama because he is black. I'm getting seriously tired of this. Working class people in America aren't any more racist than the class of Americans who are too wealthy to work. Sure, there are some people who are racist and won't vote for him, and that shocks people so it gets a lot of attention. But seriously, look at these three guys: do you think they vote AT ALL? (remember, something like 60% of America doesn't!) Nobody is talking about all the working class whites who had trouble voting for John Kerry or Al Gore. If Obama loses, it will be because of the pathetic Democratic Party itself, not because he is black.

POPSLabour rotting away?
The only person I have heard eulogising over this pathetic British Government was a former artilleryman, a Labour Councillor on Blackpool's council, in a so-called debate on selecting 12 Rgt RA as Blackpool's adopted regiment. He made me want to vomit. Had his 9 years service not taught him to think for himself? From that performance it appears very unlikely. The debate was an insult to intelligent oratory . It culminated in the heroic Major of the Conservative Party giving the worst two minute speech ever heard. The soporific mutterings were almost intelligible because the Chambers seemed to be engrossed in the fact that they may get more expenses as fresh legislation had just been introduced, requiring the Council to form a fresh licensing committee. If you think Westminster stinks, take a night off and go and visit your local council chamber. The great pity is that too few people attend these public events. You can also speak, if you apply to do so. try it, you cannot do a

POPSThe Worst Comedians of All Time Carlos Mencia - If this is what comedy is going to be like when Mexico takes over America, then we're voting for anyone who promises to put a 50-foot barbed-wire electric fence from Texas to California—and then another one around our TV.

POPSFail: More Moldy Barracks for Wounded Soldiers
Is it really that hard to square away barracks for the wounded? Given this latest eruption of maintenance incompetence and failure in leadership, I'd just like to direct everyone's attention back to a statement made in April by Brigadier General Dennis Rogers--Director of Operations and Facilities for Installation Management Command--in regard to the Fort Bragg barracks situation: "I'll tell you right now before we even start: I assume responsibility for the shortfalls in barracks maintenance which were referenced in the video by Mr. Frawley. We let our soldiers down. And I note that a number of you are veterans, or most of you are veterans, and you served. So you know that there is no excuse for that. We let our soldiers down." Of course, this statement was made after the much-hyped "nationwide walk-through." So what's the deal now? Can we meet the standard, or what? This is pathetic. What incentive do you give people to enlist when this is what you offer them?

POPSThe Last Victorian Leviathan Steam Ship Alas, the end of the Eastern came with more of a whimper than bang. After suffering far too many accidents, and far too many money troubles, the Eastern passed from one hand to another until eventually the largest ship in the Victorian world came to a humiliating end, first as a floating billboard in Liverpool and then finally broken up and sold as scrap. - It took two full years just to dismantle this ship (gives you an idea how big it was). - A mysterious dead body was found inside the special double hull (one can only imagine the desperate story of that stowaway...) At least Brunel didn't see the sad and pathetic end to his magnificent Great Eastern, though he didn't live to see its majesty either. Brunel died only four days after the great ship's first sea trial.

POPSPolitical Cover This allows dems at home to say they support drilling to their constituents knowing that the drilling is DOA and will not be voted on. Pathetic

POPSAlcee Hastings Receives Harsh Criticizism From Black Congressional Candidate I fully agree with Allen West, a Black Congressional candidate's take on Congressman Hastings. Mr. West, I hope you win the election and bring your positive outlook on life, to the Halls of Congress as a manly counter-point to Alcee Hastings' poor-poor- little me (I laid my head on the railroad tracks but the train didn't come by) defeatist attitude. Keep up the good work!

POPSThe Aral Sea - A Tear Drop on Mother Earth "The Aral Sea is not an isolated case almost all the lakes in the world are under threat of faulty development agenda of the short sighted governments and in various stages of degradation. POPSO'Reilly is Just So....Funny! I never had seen this until someone posted it on youtube the other day. I don't watch Bill very much, once in a while I catch his shows and find him to be seriously funny, yet somehow also think he is sad and pathetic, since he seems to actually BELIEVE the crap he is saying. But here he is in yet another humorous yet pitiful moment! Enjoy!

POPSObama Considers Monsanto, Bush Sec. Of Agricuture for VP
So, when Barack Obama even CONSIDERS a Monsanto person for his VP, we are looking at one hellish choice on his part and one large one on ours. Because ANYONE connected to Monsanto, at a time when our family farmers and ranchers (we are losing 1000 ranchers a month) are facing imminent collapse, is a threat to our land, our democracy and our lives. I hope you read the following with the horror it deserves and then get hold of every farming, environmental, human rights group you know and with them, let Obama know that some things are impossible to swallow, and monopoly over food with the loss of our farmers is TOP of the list. And in case you are late to who Monsanto is, you can read this to understand the dire significance of Obama's even considering such a choice and what it says about him as a "grass-roots" anything: Obama's Uniquely Awful Veep Prospect 2 hours, 4 minutes ago The Nation July 26, 2008 The Nation -- Barack Obama's vice presidential search team

POPSEx Reads Kids' E-Mails From Us My stepdaughter told me yesterday that her mother definitely reads her emails. I knew that already because our emails were being read at times when my stepdaughter was in school and the responses were not my stepdaughter's, but I didn't tell my stepdaughter that. I knew her mother was responding and pretending it was my husband's daughter responding. Pathetic of a mother to do this!

POPSMe And My Girls "But was it really all thus? When memory is called to answer, it often answers back with deception. How is it that almost every warm bar stool contains a hero, a star of his own epic, who is the sum of his amazing stories? If I said I was a fat thug who beat up women and sold bad coke, would you like my story? What if instead I wrote that I was a recovered addict who obtained sole custody of my twin girls, got us off welfare and raised them by myself, even though I had a little touch of cancer? Now we’re talking. Both are equally true, but as a member of a self-interpreting species, one that fights to keep disharmony at a remove, I’m inclined to mention my tenderhearted attentions as a single parent before I get around to the fact that I hit their mother when we were together. We tell ourselves that we lie to protect others, but the self usually comes out looking damn good in the process. "

POPSThe long journey from denier to delayer I think your reaction depends on whether you are a "glass is 90 percent empty" or "glass is 10 percent full" type of person and whether you judge the president on the relative basis of his dismal, pathetic, unconscionable climate record (in which case what he agreed to at the G8 was a big deal) or on an absolute basis of what needs to be done to avoid catastrophic climate impacts for the next 10 billion people to walk the earth (in which case what the G8 did was give a placebo to a diabetic -- a sugar-coated placebo, that is). The Guardian online asked for my commentary, "Ignoring the climate change alarm." Here are some excerpts:

POPSDitch the Hubs and Build More Regional Airports I'm convinced this is the only solution to airport congestion and delays. Regardless of technology, you can only squeeze a finite number of planes into the same airspace. More regionals also means I'm closer to home and my destination, plus a whole lot of time saved.

POPSBush's attempt to keep us hooked on oil Man, Tom Friedman just nails it. This is exactly what the Bush administration is trying to do and it scares the heck out of me. I strongly suggest that you click the source link to read the entire article.
