POPSDeath In A Bottle Should someone dying from terminal cancer have the right to end their life peacefully? Obviously, this is a very controversial subject, and some of the things that bother me are the depression, state of mind, and pain one is in when dying. Maybe because I had a NDE myself, I feel as though there is a certain wrongness to it, but I can't speak for anyone else.

POPSDr. Daphne Miller on what healthy diets have in common
From another interview with Dr. Miller: "I don’t mean to sound self-righteous about this, but I don’t have hired help. I’m a doctor, I have two kids, I teach, I manage to exercise most days, and I still manage to cook. It’s just a matter of priorities. It’s a matter of deciding that this is the way you’re going to spend family time and relaxation time—not in front of the TV, not driving somewhere in your car, but actually just in the kitchen for a half hour or 40 minutes, making a meal.... But when people give me that as the ground rule—'well, you know, I just don’t have time to cook, so you’re going to have to find a solution for me that doesn’t involve cooking'—the answer is: Sorry. When people really get sick, they have all the time in the world. All of a sudden they go to all these doctor’s appointments and they have to stand in line at a pharmacy to buy their medications. And they have to go for testing and they have to go for follow-up, and they have to spend all the hours bei

POPSMy Schnauzer Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the craps table. Along comes a beautiful young blonde who wants to bet £10,000 on a single roll of the dice. But she insists, ‘I hope you don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude.’ The two men are delighted and readily agree. So she takes off all her clothes and rolls the dice while yelling, ‘Be lucky . . Be lucky . . Be lucky.‘ As the dice stops she yells, ‘YES, YES, YES!! I WON, I WON, I WON.’ She jumps up and down, kissing and hugging the dealers. Then she picks up her money and clothes and rushes away. The dealers stare at each other dumbfounded. Finally one of them asks, ‘What did she roll, anyway?’ ‘I don't know,’ replied the second, ‘I hoped you were watching.’

POPSThe Pharmacy of the Future and You Solox, the emotional independence pill, enables patients to have a wide and emotionally satisfying circle of friends but liberates them from the tedium of having only one intimate partner. Owens then posits that the price of Credon is about as much as for a candy bar, while Libermine and Solox costs as much as good bottle of wine. So on what grounds do you choose among these options? Owens suggests that one response might be that it's "normal" to want to be in relationship. The pharmacist reminds you that people born with extra Solox in their brains are just as "natural" as people without it. Surely you would agree that such free spirits should not be regarded as somehow inadequate. Another response is that taking Libermine would so change you that you wouldn't be you anymore. Of course, the whole point of taking Credon is to change you so that you, in some respects, aren't you anymore.
