POPSLike we needed more evidence that the Bush presidency talks crap... I don't know whether I'm more horrified that the comparison to "The Hunting of the Snark" is apt or that our government is keeping these folks at Guantanamo for fear of mistreatment back home. Maybe they're afraid that the water used for water-boarding won't be from a Brita pitcher. We suck.

POPS$126 Million Dollar Man Heads to the Bullpen Wow. This is just amazing. Everyone who knows baseball knew Zito's deal was terrible for the Giants. Zito was very, very good but worth $126 Million? Definitely not. Truth is, he could still be a good pitcher and perhaps a stint in the pen could help him considering he has gone 247 games without missing a starting turn.

POPSJob Security: watch out for 800-chacha I was reading an email from a coworker at the public library I work at and it was about 800-chacha. Similar to Google411, but more on random information you might be wondering about. If you have an iPhone or Smart Phone, you could look it up yourself but if you do not have that (trust me, I'm one of those people - my phone is 5 years old) then this might help you. I am not sure if it will do away with the need for the reference librarian but it does add more competition I suppose. However, they said school librarians were not necessary and now, with integrating technology as well as assisting with curriculum development, school librarians are still relevant.

POPSObama's Answers To Ties To Indicted Rezko Don't Pass The Smell Test What's on trial is the Illinois Combine. We pay for this bipartisan cooperation in higher taxes, "the Chicago Way". With Rezko's jury being selected, you might think Republicans would feel some excitement running down their legs, the way liberal pundits tingle with Obamamania, or the way teenage girls respond to photographs of Justin Timberlake. Instead the Republicans are subdued. As I've warned before, the Rezko trial isn't about Obama. It is about Rezko and some Democrats, like Gov. Rod "The Unreformer" Blagojevich. But it also involves Rezko and powerful Illinois Republicans with national reach.

POPSFootball Immortality or All-Time-Greatest-Upset? Hard to take my feelings out of this considering i am a passionate Giant fan. That said, who doesn't like to root for an underdog? Answer: anyone who wants to witness the drama unfold as the Pats chase one of the most hallowed records in sports. Like the author notes, "either way, it's transfixing." C'MON G-MEN!!!
