Club for Growth Endorses Rubio
jatfla
by jatfla  Yesterday 6:04 PM
Moving on to the next ousting of a RINO. The GOP came out of the gate supporting Crist, but the man is just a Democrat with an R behind his name. Rubio will have my vote. On a recent survey sent out by the Republican Party I wrote "Rubio" all over it. They asked all the right questions and then give us crummy candidates.

Palin & the Dysfunctional Political Class
jatfla
by jatfla  11-8-2009    1
The current GOP seems to look for mediocrity...someone who will *fit*...a person who appears *electable*, a vanilla-type. It seems to stand for everything and yet nothing. Whether Mrs. Palin would make a good Presidential candidate, I don't know. But I'm weary to death of the clandestine people who mouth conservative rhetoric and then fold when the game is on. Give me a candidate who gives me a clear choice; not one who bows to the current political breeze blowing through Washington. I've just about lost all "Hope" because I don't see any on the horizon.

the man who was to become President of the United States of America. If we follow the time line on where Obama was during the funding of the Chicago Climate Exchange, he was still a professor at the University of Chicago Law School teaching constitutional law, with his law license becoming inactive a year later in 2002. It may be interesting to note that the Chicago Climate Exchange in spite of its hype, is a veritable rat’s nest of cronyism. The largest shareholder in the Exchange is Goldman Sachs. Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley is its honorary chairman, The Joyce Foundation, which funded the Exchange also funded money for John Ayers’ Chicago School Initiatives. John is the brother of William Ayers. What a flap when it was discovered that the senator from Chicago had nursed on Saul Alinsky’s milk, had his political career launched at a coffee party held by domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, and sat for 20 years, uncomplaining in front of the

who said in a separate interview from Kabul, “I don’t see how President Obama can make a decision about the committing of our additional forces, or even the further fulfillment of our mission that’s here today, without an adequate government in place.” His interview was broadcast on “Face the Nation.” The signals come as Republican critics already are complaining that the president is taking too long to decide They argue that Mr. Obama has left the impression of indecisiveness that has only emboldened the Taliban, making the task of the 68,000 American troops already there that much harder. Well, sometimes not making a decision is a decision. Not making a choice when you really have no choice is pretty much a forfeit, though. With every last one of our allies looking on, doing the mental calculus on which way to go now that the United States has shown itself to be utterly gutless and unreliable. With no vote of US confidence in any elected outcome whatsoever,

Joe Biden: the worrying rise of Barack Obama’s Mr Wrong
CrazyRedHead
by CrazyRedHead  10-19-2009    4
The real difficulty with Mr Biden, however, is his judgment. On all the big questions, he has been – to put it politely – on the wrong side of history. The problem is that Mr Obama may now be listening to Mr Biden. Having supposedly already settled on an Afghan strategy in March, he is giving a very public impression of Hamlet as he wrings his hands and conducts endless White House debates – with details leaked to the press – about what to do.

"None Of Our Business"
merrie
by merrie  10-13-2009    1
… CNSnews.com has confirmed that “the actual final text of the legislation will be determined by Reid himself , who will consolidate the legislation approved by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee and the still-unapproved legislation from the Senate Finance Committee. Reid will be able to draft and insert textual language that was not expressly approved by either committee.” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will write the final version of Obamacare to be considered in the Senate with no input from the American people.. Then the House rubber stamps the Senate bill and rushes it into the President’s hands: The final step in this plan is for the House to take up Obama care, without amending the legislation, and then sending that bill directly to the President for his signature.

Have you seen the ObamaCare bill?

Mikulski blocks "Read the Bill" rule Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) used procedural tactics this week to block an amendment offered by Sen. Jim Bunning (R-KY) to require all bills to be posted on the Internet 72 hours before they are considered by the Senate. It is outrageous -- but perhaps not surprising -- that a U.S. Senator would oppose such a modest proposal for transparency. Watch the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwZz7h6tmFY&feature=channel TAKE ACTION! Contact Sen. Mikulski and tell her you're not happy she opposed the 72-hour "Read the Bill" rule. And please don't let her office tell you the amendment was not germane. The Senate adopts amendments every day that aren't germane and this one was no different. Mikulski's number is (202) 224-4654 and you can email her here. http://mikulski.senate.gov/Contact/contact.cfm

Doctors for Obama, Arm of the Obama Campaign That Boasted More Than 10,000 Members

....... sent out an email on September 18, which was received by Beverly B. Nuckols, MD, of Texas, who blogged: The only people who kept bringing up “what physicians can be doing now to ensure that Congress pushes forward to create meaningful health reform” were the same guys who made sure that the rest of us were on “listen-in” mode only.Still no mention about the close connections with Senator Max Baucus, the Obama election and transition teams, the Center for American Progress and John Podesta, or (specifically) Dr. Murthy’s own role on the transition team. Dr. Murthy, an internal medicine physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School, is also the co-founder and president of Doctors for America. Dr. Nuckols did some serious sleuthing and discovered: The leadership at Doctors for America is made up of nearly the same roster of men and women who, in 2008, were the leadership of “Doctors for Obama” in 2008.

Obama's Hidden Agenda

by mountainpalm  10-3-2009    14
It wasn't because he wanted to be the first American president to chair a meeting of the United Nations Security Council. It wasn't because he wanted to tilt toward the Arabs and away from Israel. It wasn't because he wanted to "engage" Iran and the Muslim world. It wasn't because he was itching to grab the reins of government and make grand decisions about war and peace in Afghanistan and Iraq. It wasn't because he wanted to move the United States to the economic left as Germany and Sweden, for example, were reaffirming their faith in capitalism and moving to the economic right. And it wasn't because he had a burning desire, as required by Article II, Section I, to recite this oath at his inauguration: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Obama to Meet High-Powered Aides for Afghan Review

were the top ranking civilian officials expected for a bracing session on a war some supporters fear could swamp Obama's presidency. War commander General Stanley McChrystal, who warned in a leaked report that the conflict could be lost within a year without more troops, was also due to to take part, either in person or by video link-up, the White House said. Other top military brass included were General David Petraeus who heads US central command, Admiral Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Director of National Intelligence Admiral Dennis Blair. CIA chief Leon Panetta was also due to take part, along with Richard Holbrooke, the US envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the US ambassadors to Islamabad and Kabul. Obama warned after meeting NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen on Tuesday that the United States could not fight the battle in Afghanistan alone, in remarks apparently aimed at European partners.

The Baucus Healthcare Bill You Can Not Believe In
merrie
by merrie  9-22-2009    1
Instead, Baucus' proposed concessions consist primarily of modest financial givebacks to middle class taxpayers who would be hit hard by his bill's proposed penalty on the uninsured. Baucus' original bill appears to be the White House's preferred model for three reasons: (1) it appears less expensive, under CBO scoring rules, than any alternative other than single payer, which Obama has decreed is off the table; (2) unlike any of the others working their way through the legislative process, it meets the terms of an apparent agreement negotiated privately among the White House, Democratic conservatives, and the pharmaceutical manufacturers' lobby PhRMA (headed by Blue Dog co-founder and Democrat-turned-Republican Billy Tauzin); and (3) it may win the vote of Republican senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME), which will allow Obama to claim nominal "bipartisanship" and, more importantly, may set the stage for Snowe to follow Arlen Specter's example and switch parties,

14 Things You Need to Know About Obama Heckler, Rep. Joe Wilson

 2. Wilson is a member of the organization, Sons of Confederate Veterans, reports Dave Niewert of Crooks and Liars, which "as the Southern Poverty Law Center has detailed assiduously, has been taken over in the past decade by radical neo-Confederates who favor secession and defend slavery as a benign institution." (Not that Wilson's affiliation has anything to do with his unprecedented heckling, during a presidential address before a joint session of Congress, of our first African-American president.) 3. Wilson served as an aide to the late segregationist Senator Strom Thurmond, who is credited with conducting the longest filibuster in Senate history -- against the 1957 civil rights bill. Upon his arrival in the Senate, the former obstetrician was elevated to the Judiciary Committee despite having advocated the death penalty for doctors who perform abortions. Obama Makes Moral Case for Health Care Reform
cptenaud
by cptenaud  9-10-2009    2
Obama did four key things in the speech. * He made the moral case for health care reform, referencing Senator Ted Kennedy many times throughout (read the Kennedy's letter to the president here), saying: "We are the only advanced democracy on Earth – the only wealthy nation – that allows such hardships for millions of its people. There are now more than thirty million American citizens who cannot get coverage. In just a two year period, one in every three Americans goes without health care coverage at some point. And every day, 14,000 Americans lose their coverage. In other words, it can happen to anyone." He made the reasonable case for bipartisanship He demonstrated that he will no longer suffer fools: And he provided the Congressional Progressive Caucus the cover it needs to pass a plan with a strong public option:
