POPSFour more years??? When you think about things like this, which nearly a decade of Republican rule in America has accomplished, it boggles the mind to think that this is actually a close race. Do people think that by voting back in the party that made things such an unholy mess, they're going to suddenly change their tune and fix everything they messed up? Let's not be ridiculous. The Republicans got what they wanted; 8 years of catering to the whims of unscrupulous profiteering companies, making the gap between the rich and the poor larger than it's ever been in America. Experience tells us it'll just be more of the same if they vote a senile, bad-tempered, hair-trigger old Republican into the office of President. So why aren't the polls showing a landslide for Obama? It boggles the mind!

POPSArms Trade Flows Freely According to US state department figures this week, Iraq has signed more than $3bn worth of arms deals in the past two years. Amnesty estimates that more than 1m small arms have been sold to Iraq since the 2003 invasion and the Iraqi government plans to procure more than 250,000 from the US and China. And the irresponsible war profiteering continues. Russia has agreed to supply 27 helicopters to Sudan, says Amnesty. Last year, Sudan listed its main arms suppliers as China, Russia, North Korea, Belarus, Indonesia, Iran and Malaysia. Some of these weapons are being used by Al Qaeda against U.S. troops. Is there no better reason to halt this illegal/immoral war?

POPSAmerica's Broken Infastructure "But the bailout won't solve the longer-term problem, which is threefold: The country doesn't invest enough in transportation infrastructure, it often spends money on the wrong things, and the current gas tax is no longer a viable funding source. Congress will have to address all of these issues when it crafts the next transportation bill." However, I do NOT agree with a vehicle mileage tax. What I'd like to see is corporate welfare and war profiteering abolished. That ought to free up some funds to invest in ourselves for a change.

POPSUS Weighs Stepped-Up Military Forays Into Pakistan Why don't we just hand over all the decisions to the Generals and Admirals and get it over with? We might as well save money on elections an other such futile circuses. Just call it The Disunuted States of the Pentagon. just cut out "the people" As middlemen and go directly to the profiteering Korporations and ask them what they need to bring in more obscene $$$$$$. Why fuck around voting?

POPSDemocrats And Gasoline that they must have some gall to criticize creationism when they in fact subscribe to its economic equivalent. But as I wrote last week, I don't really think they are this ignorant. They're providing a rhetorical distraction to the fact that they want high gas prices, probably higher ones than we have right now. Meanwhile, in order to deflect and even harness consumer anger in the political arena, they can send out Chuck Schumer to put on this dog-and-pony show about the phantoms that are secretly directing the economy from behind closed doors. It's a smokescreen. As an energy consumer, you should be a lot more concerned about what Democrats are doing in the open Senate chamber. The gas crisis finally hit Capitol Hill with full fury this week, and Senate Democrats have launched a plan that sounds ambitious: Take on Wall Street speculators, OPEC, price gougers and Big Oil. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0408/9967.html

POPSAmeriKKKa has turned the corner. The idea that once was, is a hallow shell of Right Wing Extemism. Where are the ideals that once constituted the freedom and democracy? Under the marching feet of an army, fighting not for ideals, but mere consumerism and profiteering at all cost. We have reached the lowest common denominator. Torture, secrecy, spying, incarcerations without warrants, changing the rules to protect those that break the laws. The end is nearer than we like to think. No more democracy and " We The People". Only corporate freedom to exploit the world with our armies backing. Obama is out!!!!!! Don't vote!!! Stay away from this scam.

POPStorture of Palestinians in Israeli prisons is the rule, not the exception Shame? Israeli Jews & and their supporters with an ounce of shame? They don't even know the definition of the word. The contradictions are obvious. These are the people stuffing sympathy down our throats around the clock about the brutal Nazis. These creatures are EXACTLY the same and even worse. My question is why should anyone feel sympathy for the profiteering alleged victims who, in the present hour, systematically perform the same torture rituals, justifying such barbaric acts with the same lame excuses?

POPSLogjam of War Contractor Fraud Suits
The exact number of qui tam cases stuck in legal limbo is unknown because the cases are kept under strict seal. But sources who have been following the issue closely estimate that there are between 50 and 70 Iraq contracting fraud cases under seal. Under normal circumstances, when the DOJ receives a qui tam case, it conducts an investigation into the whistleblower's claims. If there is sufficient evidence of significant fraud, the DOJ joins with the whistleblower to sue the company in question and recover the government's money. The whistleblower can receive up to 30 percent of money recovered as a reward for their service to the taxpayer. Not a single qui tam case against war contractors has been joined by the Bush administration DOJ despite the possibility of recovering billions of dollars for the US taxpayer and reining in war profiteers, who continue to cheat and defraud the government and the US troops mired in battle. POPSWAR PROFITEERS being Protected by GAG ORDERS? Whistleblowers are the ones in danger of being criminalised while the REAL criminals are protected by the law! US contractors screwed the American and Iraqi people for BILLIONS, with White House blessing.

POPSTabloids - where bloodlust = money lust Tabloids aren't known for their morals; rather their immorality. Is this graphic profiteering or incendiary propaganda? Harmless of hurtful? Or simply all for the money - both tabloids are owned by the same company.

POPS"No more Iraq occupation funding." How much longer must this illegal, extortionate war in Iraq go on? There has been so much damage caused by this war ranging from the loss of influence to the United States of America, around the world, to the endless casualties of Iraqi citizens. Totals (Especially from the Pro-war, Pro-neocons) are estimated at 84,050 to 91,713 but these figures, although quite shocking, are not the true estimate. A study in 2006 assesses the loss of life at over 655,000 Iraqis or more than 500 people a day (A report, which of course, President Bush does not consider credible.). That would mean, every single family most likely, has suffered a loss in this war. Natural disasters that are inundating the news today, such as in Myanmar, . And China's death toll from last week’s earthquake ... Alarming numbers but still dwarfed by the Iraqi totals.

POPSHolocaust Profiteering Meanwhile, in such psychopathological reasoning, Palestinians don't deserve a penny for an entire country - and all its goods - terroristically stolen from under their feet. Not a penny for the many thousands of Palestinians murdered by the state of Israel and individual
