POPSCharge for Rape Kits - Another Lie Another one hits the dust. The Democrats must rue the day that Algore invented that intertube thingy and then allowed people who actually cared about the truth to use it.

POPSHow Dems grew to hate the liberal media “I used to get a lot more on the right,” said columnist Richard Cohen, who broke with liberals when he supported the Iraq war. More recently, the left has picked apart columns that are perceived as being favorable to John McCain. “If you’re a little bit critical of Barack Obama, you get really a pie of vilification right in the face,” Cohen said, adding that his liberal critics “were born too late, because they would have been great Communists.”

POPSHow come we only hear about white male evangelicals? "the media often chronicle the broadening social concerns of white evangelical males such as Rick Warren and Richard Cizik." But much non-white evangelicalism has been politically progressive - and isolated - for a long, long time.

POPSmedia coverage of DNC is insane i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks so. the article gets part of it, but it misses the whole sycophantic relationship msnbc has with the democratic party. it's nauseating to see olbermann and matthews fellate the party so blatantly. how can any progressive complain about foxnews' support for the gop when msnbc is just as bad? anyway, hillary knocked it out the park tonight - perfect perfect speech.

POPSCommunist Party Backs Obama For Prez The struggle to defeat the ultra-right and turn our country on a positive path will not end with Obama’s election. But that step will shift the ground for successful struggles going forward. One thing is clear. None of the people’s struggles — from peace to universal health care to an economy that puts Main Street before Wall Street — will advance if McCain wins in November. Let’s keep our eyes on the prize. That’s right. The Communist Party Of The United States wants to elect Barack Hussein Obama as our President. Why do you think that is? And why has their endorsement been so studiously ignored by our watchdog media? Still, won’t it be pleasant finally to have a President that the same hard-line Communists who supported Joseph Stalin can support? This is the kind of “unity” Mr. Obama will bring us. h/t sweetness & light http://sweetness-light.com/

POPSThe Interview With Author David Freddoso
"The Case Against Barack Obama" The Unlikely Rise and Unexamined Agenda of the Media's Favorite Candidate That would have been against the interests of now-convicted developer Tony Rezko, who was tied closely to the Stroger family. He would have upset Mayor Daley, he would have to upset Emil Jones. So he played along like a good machine politician. Obama was denounced by a lot of liberals including some big people who were still big fans of his at the time. Obama’s very much about the old politics, and he’s very much not a reformer. It shouldn’t be a surprise except the only surprise is that he has managed to project this reformer image. MO: Your book references many stories from the Chicago Sun-Times. Why does the national media ignore it? DF: Well, unfortunately, I think the national media -- which resides largely in New York and Washington and perhaps out West in Los Angeles -- doesn’t look at or read the Chicago papers nearly as much as they should.

POPSDRILL HERE. DRILL NOW. DRILL AL Satellite imagery reveals that despite protests by Greenazi groups of “damage to pristine forestation!”, the area targeted for drilling is, in fact barren of any foliage whatsoever. The first glimpse of gore’s “flesh tone beanie” at the democrat convention in august 2000 when he embraced Leo DiCaprio after a long and passionate “global pants warming” tongue kiss hailed by the media and gay activists. ________________ *Of course, initial drilling in ANBR may result in the expelling of some very smug & toxic hot air, but we think this can be kept to a minimum. In any case, there is no debating or denying these facts: Ancient civilizations, all of which are infinitely superior to our own, used skull drilling to cure cancer, celebrate diversity, and save the earth. Plus, these cultures that we could learn so much from were progressive enough to reject the use of gas guzzling ambulances, as well as energy wasting hospitals!

POPSObama's Flip-Flopping Caused By Evil Twin (alter-ego) In light of the recent changes in the current truth, it is important to understand which contradictory "flip-flopping" statement belongs to which twin. The officially registered "flip-flops" already include Public Financing, Guns, Iraq, FISA, Special Interests, NAFTA, the Cuba Embargo, Illegal Immigration, and Abortion. The list grows almost daily. Just a few examples: * Top Obama Flip-Flops * Collection of Obama Flip-Flops * Obama & McCain (cannot confirm a McCain evil twin) Flip-Flops The discovery of an evil twin comes as a huge relief to most Americans who otherwise might conclude that Obama is not a new transcendent-type messiah, but a usual Chicago-type lying politician. Luckily, nobody will have to contemplate the depth of Obama's perceived depravity anymore, because the existence of the evil twin changes everything.

POPSNational Conference For Media Reform And Progressive Media Outlets
As AIM has documented in the book, “The Death of Talk Radio?,” and in a TV advertisement, the movement to control the content of the media is a real danger to the First Amendment guarantee of freedom of speech. But the Broadcaster Freedom Act, which would stop the return of the Fairness Doctrine, is being bottled up by congressional liberals, who don’t want it to come up for a vote. If Obama captures the White House and gets the opportunity to appoint the FCC chairman, liberals would then have a 3-2 majority capable of bringing back the Fairness Doctrine through administrative action, without the need for congressional approval. A new Fairness Doctrine could be challenged in the courts. In the meantime, as court battles proceed, conservatives could be forced off the air by liberal FCC bureaucrats. The 2007 National Conference for Media Reform, also covered by Accuracy in Media, included members of the Revolutionary Communist party and other Marxist groups.

POPSMark Steyn: Feed Your Prius, Starve A Peasant
Insofar as history will recall him at all, he may have the distinction of being the first head of government to fall victim to "global warming" – or, at any rate, the "war on global warming" that Time magazine is gung-ho for. The result is that big government accomplished at a stroke what the free market could never have done: They turned the food supply into a subsidiary of the energy industry. When you divert 28 percent of U.S. grain into fuel production, and when you artificially make its value as fuel higher than its value as food, why be surprised that you've suddenly got less to eat? Or, to be more precise, it's not "you" who's got less to eat but those starving peasants in distant lands you claim to care so much about. That tree the U.S. Marines are raising on Iwo Jima was most-likely cut down to make way for an ethanol-producing corn field: Researchers at Princeton calculate that, to date, the "carbon debt" created by the biofuels arboricide will take 167 years to reverse

POPSShattering the war consensus: Cindy Sheehan stands up to the crack house crowd
Pelosi, though she is, like the Clintons, sneered at by the thug right (and thereby gains street cred in ultra-liberal San Francisco, the district she represents), has paved the way for Bush's war-funding requests to pass time and again with her political gamesmanship in the House. Among many other acts of accommodation, she was also secretly briefed, along with a few other members of Congress, on CIA torture practices in 2002, and in the spirit of bipartisan amorality saw no problem with it. "This is a progressive, populist campaign. Every day that we exist and bring up these issues is a victory for us," said Sheehan, the grieving mom who became the public face of opposition to the war in Iraq. Now, with a staff of two, she is turning her challenge to that war into a political campaign. To the extent that politics is about winning and losing, yes, hers is probably a lost cause. But I see it as something else. I see it as a clarion stand for principle and rallying point for all w

POPSLadies and Gentlemen! Comrades!
In the absence of classical Marxist preconditions for the Revolution - global crisis of capitalism combined with massive poverty and despair - Global Warming stands out as the most convenient, non-denominational replacement thereof. It provides both the means to manipulate the masses - and a moral justification for doing so. As such it replaces the previously promising but failed agitprop tools as "Overpopulation," "Ozone Holes," "Global Famine," and "Ice Age 2." Until the time when it gets replaced by another convenient agitprop tool, Global Warming must remain an unquestionable dogma in all political discussions (you shall be notified of changes, if any, by the NPR, the New York Times, and other progressive media organs.) The importance of Global Warming for the Revolution is too great to leave it in the hands of scientists. The masses must have faith in Global Warming whether it can be proven or not. http://www.thepeoplescube.com/red/viewtopic.php?t=1096

POPS10.000 Republicans switch parties to vote Kucinich out
Kucinich, widely regarded as the most progressive member of the U.S. House, survived the effort by relying on strong and solid support from organized labor and from his traditional grassroots political base, plus additional financial support from a national constituency attracted to his Presidential campaign, which ended in January. But, political observers and media analysts are predicting that Kucinich remains vulnerable to his Republican opponent in November - a former state representative and Republican Party chief who will draw the same kind of financial and institutional support that Kucinich's chief Democratic rival relied on in the primary election. Although the Congressional District has been reliably Democratic throughout Kucinich's six terms, the anti-Kucinich sentiment among Republican interests is likely to fuel a massive outpouring of support for his opponent in the general election campaign We need him and his pocket constitution in Congress!

POPSKucinich goes back to HR
DK not supporting another empty suit speaks volumes. I wish him the best fightin the good fight amongst the snakes in the HR... from rev. nick: If there is one thing that is obvious, it is that Dennis Kucinich was systematically removed from this election. The corporate media made sure that his voice would not be heard. The Democratic Party excluded him as well. This was not happenchance, this was intentional. Why? Because he represents the people, not corporations. He stands for what nearly every single one of us wants to see accomplished in this country: the restoration of the constitution, worker rights, universal health care. If the citizens actually voted for their own interests, Kucinich would be a true threat to those in power and it would be a major step in reclaiming our democracy. The battle to restore integrity to our republic is a big one. Kucinich is a David before an plutocratic Goliath, and yet the citizens of this country vote for the giant because it can win.

POPSThe Invisible Man January, '08. Kucinich has been denied the right to debate in Iowa and on ABC (Disney, Inc.) and has had his image excised from a photograph of democratic candidates, said photo sent all over the world. After an early debate, when a national poll revealed that viewers considered him the winner, mainstream media declared him "unelectable" and began to ignore him completely. Nevertheless, he has won polls by ABC, MSNBC, CSPAN, Democracy For America, the John Edwards Campaign (!) and every online poll I'm aware of that would attract progressive democrats and independents. On January 7, Jay Leno asked Ron Paul who on the democratic side he liked best. When Paul mentioned "Dennis" the crowd erupted in applause.

POPS Vladimir Putin '08 For Democratic U.S.President Iowa Activist: I want the strongest candidate on the Democratic ticket in 2008 and Putin is it. I wish any of our Democrats could be half the man he is in dealing with the right-wing media. Most experts agree that if Putin were to run on the Democratic platform, he could easily beat other candidates at their own game by promising the American people a smorgasbord of entitlements. "The values are the same, and so is the shared vision of massive government expansion to save the children from the dangers of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," continues General Yezhov. "And when the product is the same, salesmanship and experience take the priority. That's all what's left for your political observers to talk about - experience. And who's got more experience in expanding the power of the government than Putin? Who I ask?"
