Bacha Khan was the pacifist leader of the Pushtuns who defied the British and organized the Pushtuns in a nonviolent resistance movement. Pakistan arrested him and his followers, dismissing the government of followers of Bacha Khan in the border province. The leader quoted Shahi Syed is also under death threat.
The Pushtuns and Mohajirs immigrated to Karachi, the capital of Sindh. Rioting by some Mohajirs, backed by newly created Pakistan, led to over 1200 murders, numerous rapes, looting and mayhem in Jan. 1948, leading to a major exodus of the peaceful indigenous Sindhi population.
