Christ Crackers Held Hostage!
AtlLiberal
by AtlLiberal  7-9-2008    3
This sounds more like a Monty Python skit than a real life occurrence. I can imagine top scientists at the Vatican working on a Magic Cracker scanner so the faithful can be scanned before leaving the church to make sure no more Sacred Ritz are abducted.

Climate Change? What Climate Change?
Socratoad
by Socratoad  6-20-2008
"Alas, it is not to be; instead, the instructions from the Wall Street Journal are Drill! Drill! Drill! and George Bush, perhaps with an eye towards the fuel riots going on around the world, jumps and proposes the new Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: 1) drilling offshore, 2) drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, 3) adding refineries, and 4) extracting oil from shale, which makes the Alberta Tar Sands look environmentally benign."

Man accused of ordering python to attack girlfriend
digitalsistere
by digitalsistere  6-18-2008
A 21-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly ordered his 9-foot-long albino python to attack his girlfriend and two police officers. Officers dispatched to investigate a domestic dispute were confronted by the man and his huge pet reptile, "and he was saying, 'Get them!' " according to a police spokesman. The snake didn't follow the orders.

Terry Gilliam Interview
pokkets
by pokkets  6-18-2008
Terry Gilliam, the Monty Python animator, talks about Life the Universe, and Brazil, the movie he describes as 1984 with guts, or Franz Kafka meets Walter Mitty - I couldn't clip the video in the usual way (64bit and flashplayer don't mix.), but the link on this looks good.
