POPSORGANIZING, BULLYING AND LYING. Now, in steps the federal bureaucracy. The NLRB — under the control of former union lawyers like SEIU extremist Craig Becker — contends that the state referenda conflict with federal law. NLRB Acting General Counsel Lafe Solomon sent a series of letters to the states’ attorney generals threatening legal action from attorney Mark Eskenazi, if the states do not overturn the will of the vast majority of their voters. (The extortion letters are also signed by Eric Moskowitz and Abby Propis Simms, Assistant and Deputy General Counsel, respectively.) A provision in the National Labor Relations Act, they claim, allows employers to voluntarily recognize unions after a card-check campaign; thus, the state provisions are unconstitutional under the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

POPSLow-Tax Texas Beats Big-Government California
California vs. Texas: the Cheat-Sheet: View Chart at directorblue site: http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2010/03/california-vs-texas-cheat-sheet.html California has gone in for big government in a big way. Democrats hold big margins in the legislature Those Democratic majorities have obediently done the bidding of public employee unions to the point that state government faces huge budget deficits. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's attempt to reduce the power of the Democratic-union combine with referenda was defeated in 2005 when public employee unions poured $100 million -- all originally extracted from taxpayers -- into effective TV ads. Californians have responded by leaving the state. From 2000 to 2009, the Census Bureau estimates, there has been a domestic outflow of 1,509,000 people from California -- almost as many as the number of immigrants coming in. Texas is a different story. Texas has low taxes -- and no state income taxes -- and a much smaller government.

POPSdo who I say, not what I do in closing: "I've long thought that the solution to the cheap, cost-free moralizing that leads very upstanding people like Karl Rove to want to ban same-sex marriages (which they don't want to enter into themselves, and thus cost them nothing) is to have those same "principles" apply consistently to all marriage laws. If Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh and their friends and followers actually were required by law to stay married to their wives -- the way that "traditional marriage" was generally supposed to work -- the movement to have our secular laws conform to "traditional marriage" principles would almost certainly die a quick, quiet and well-deserved death." http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/pages/2010-California-Protection-of-Marriage-Act/

POPSRove: Champion of "traditional" divorce Actually, this is Rove's second divorce. His first wife was "Valerie Wainright, a wealthy Houston woman from the Bush social circle, but the marriage could not withstand his consuming preoccupation with politics." They divorced after three years of marriage. So the one that was just terminated was Rove's second "traditional marriage" to end without death doing them part. His next traditional marriage will be to his third wife. Did I mention that Rove believes it's vital that our secular laws enforce precepts of "traditional marriages" and bar everything else?

POPSIRISH REFERENDUM OUTCOME IS NULL AND VOID
IRISH ELECTORAL LAW FLOUTED, CANCELLING OUT THE RESULT Our published information that the Irish Referendum on the dictatorial Lisbon Treaty was rigged, is ACCURATE. However at the time of the Update to the report dated 2nd October (see below) we hadn’t yet obtained details of the WAY the Referendum was rigged and influenced in favour of the treacherous YES lobby. We now have this information. This is how the Irish were ‘persuaded’ to change their minds: (1): Ballot boxes may have been stuffed prior to the Referendum polling booths opening. Specifically: • Under Irish law, ballot boxes are required to be delivered by members of the garda (police) to the polling stations at 7:00 am on the date the election takes place. • This legal requirement applies to ALL polling in Ireland, whether elections or referenda. • On this occasion, however, the ballot boxes were delivered to the private residences of the polling/Returning Officers, 48 hours prior to the Referendum.

POPSWhy Obama Isn't Necessarily Dead Articles like this are a necessary counterweight to media coverage that forgets that the next election isn't being held today. I disagree with the author's third reason for skepticism, though. Basically, presidential elections are referenda on the national mood, in which little about the opposition matters. If things aren't going well enough, the incumbent party loses. Frankly, unless the Republicans run somebody with bipartisan charisma or a national hero in 2012, the identity and platform of Obama's opponent won't matter. I'm not sure we have any universal national heroes out there, and this "partisan age" doesn't produce people with bipartisan charisma.

POPSReferenda: Good News for Women, Bad for Gays Good on them. However, several states cast votes that they'll eventually regret. In California, Prop. 8 wins . Marriage equality is dead in California -- the same is true of measures in Arizona and Florida. In Arkansas, gays are banned from adopting or becoming foster parents . That's a shame -- literally. These are attitudes we'll all look back at with shame.

POPS John McCain And The Conservative Base When did McCain get a bump? When he picked an unapologetic conservative running mate. How is Obama winning this election now? By never calling himself a liberal at all, by never mentioning his true allies and mentors, and by pretending not to be a radical Leftist. Conservatives lose when they deny that they are conservatives: When they seek that two percent of America that calls itself moderate at the cost of that sixty percent of America that calls itself conservative. When was the last time an unapologetic conservative ran against a nice, old-fashioned liberal? Twenty-four years ago. The result? The conservative got about sixty percent of the vote. If Rush lost his guts the way that Republicans have these days, he would lose most of his audience as well. But he sensed, before Battleground Polls said it, that America is a profoundly conservative nation. Now all we need is candidate and president who understands this.

POPSAmerica Is A Conservative Nation When 60% of people identify themselves as somewhat conservative or very conservative - how does a huge liberal like Obama try to get elected? By lying about his background and associations, by relying on the media to run interference for him, by using nuclear destruction on any conservative (Sarah Palin).
