Is Phaistos Disc a forgery?
invictus
by invictus  7-12-2008    2
If Dr. Jerome Eisenberg's claims are true, then it means the Phaistos Disc discovery of 1908 deserves to be recorded as "the biggest archaeological hoax of the century". Could it be possible? Could all the archaeologists and experts of the past 100 years who curiously examined the disc, fail to spot a professionally done forgery? I doubt it but we'll learn the truth soon.

Silkweaver

Alan Guth of MIT, who first proposed the inflation theory nearly three decades ago, says he suspects “the reported lopsidedness will more likely turn out to be a fluke.” However, he adds, “the concept of inflation is really only the framework of a theory, and so far experiment has given us very little guidance in trying to fill in the details.

NYC's Forgotten Subway
revenantdm
by revenantdm  5-12-2008    1
Though the story does not go into deeper detail if you go a few levels deeper than the pneumatic tube is, you will find a 19th Century luxury station beneath Upper Manhattan. This station and the trains that were driven through it were built by the Highest of High Society Members.. The Vanderbilts, the Astors, the Rockerfellers, and so on.. It was their own private train and station for their trips to Central Park and the exclusive shopping and banking centers. It was decommissioned only a few short months later as the coal burning engines of the day caused too much pollution underground for the blue bloods breathing.

Very Sobering Images of the World Today
xbeckyax

Do not look at these if you are upset real easily, because they are awful, but they are real of what's going on round the world today. Still absolutely shocking though, it should't be going on anymore! Their is enough money in the world to stop this!

"Kristen's" MySpace Images In News Stories Copyright Infringement?
merrie
by merrie  3-15-2008
MySpace’s Terms & Conditions page states that “MySpace does not claim any ownership rights” over the photos users post on the site. It says MySpace has the right to display user content within MySpace, but “This limited license does not grant MySpace the right to sell or otherwise distribute your Content outside of the MySpace Services.” The photos remained on Youmans’s MySpace profile Thursday morning, but had been taken down by Thursday afternoon. That strikes me as incredibly silly, though, and as a relic of the pre-Internet world. Like it or not, Dupree is a public figure now and the images are indeed newsworthy. It seems to me that when a copyright holder puts images in a public forum, that should render them public domain for the purposes of news reporting and commentary. It shouldn’t confer the right to sell said images directly but their use to illustrate a story should be “fair use” under the law.

Boy, did Bush I make a mistake by passing over him. This is a nice article which reflects on the entire man, not just his *job* of investigating the lies of Mr. Clinton. Remember when "war" was declared on this man? The Clinton machine and the press chewed him to pieces...but he still got the truth.
