POPSSarah Palin's high-risk, high-reward strategy Washington (CNN) -- When Sarah Palin weighed in last week on the contentious special congressional election in New York, she did so in her trademark way: unconventionally. While other potential 2012 presidential contenders largely stayed quiet on the divisive congressional race that has exposed fault lines in the party, Palin delivered a slap in the face to Republican Party leadership in Washington when she offered a full-throated endorsement of third-party conservative Doug Hoffman over the GOP's anointed candidate, Dede Scozzafava. The CNN poll also shows Palin has lost support among independent voters over the last year, drawing approval from 41 percent of them now, 10 points lower than that group's approval last year. She fares even worse with self-identified moderate voters, drawing only a 34 percent approval rating.

POPSA Ripe Time For Florida's Marco Rubio "Rubio intends to prove that "in the most important swing state, you can run successfully as a principled conservative." When Florida politics come up I always encourage my friends to get out and support this man. He's the one!!!! Crist is a political climber of the worst kind. I believe, at heart, he is a Democrat (when once that was not a bad thing in Florida) but chose to run as a Republican because of a Jeb Bush strong Republican state. As one pundit pointed out, Crist never runs for re-election...he's climbing the ladder. Floridian conservatives need to take back the GOP flag...even if the Party Leadership is trying to play the political odds game.

POPSHow low can the Republicans go! The overall approval ratings of Congressional Republicans is 17% as a party! The Dems are taking their lumps over this chaotic time, but nowhere near the kinds of wounds the GOP are suffering. The media make it appear that all these teabaggers are rallying around the RNC and the country just loves the Beltway elites' favorite party, but that's not true at all.

POPSGood Slogan,“End of the Road, 2010!” Catchy
OK, forget that last bit for a minute … there’s no indication they can make anything happen even with House and Senate majorities, and they’ve done everything they can to avoid actually saying what they are for, anyway. It’s the naked surrenderism that is truly astonishing. It’s not just that are they ready to give up if the GOP wins back some seats. Did they learn nothing from George Bush? He got what he wanted even when they took Congress. He’s still having key parts of it his way even after the opposition took the White House … on a ticket that called for doing anything but what Bush did. Now Biden, his boss and the Congressional leadership are looking for a politically viable way to lose a war Bush showed them how to win. While apparently, if that “End of the Road 2010″ statement represents their reality, in no particularly big rush to advance their agenda and not particularly hopeful about it. Help me out here. Why’d they even run in the first place?

POPSItaly PM: Exit Afghanistan Soon.
Statements by Berlusconi and other's in his administration appear contradictory. But on Italian TV he said: "We are all convinced it's best for everybody to get out soon." While it makes a lot of sense to want to capture and/or kill Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda leadership, George Bush twisted that into War in Iraq and this War in Afghanistan...and it seems the guys we're looking for aren't in either of those places. So Western Pakistan is also being ripped up. Of course the war in Iraq we know was built on deliberately fabricated lies....the beating of war drums to start a War in Iran is built on propaganda and lies (Iran has no WMD's)...and much of this appears to be excuses for old-fashioned imperialism. Old-fashioned imperialism sucks, imo. And recent months have revealed the dark hearts and vile hatred of USA Republican right_wing nut jobsm their motives are not good will or good faith but full of smear and insults. They should move to Afghanistan if they like i

POPSPlease tell me who you are Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us.

POPSWe've seen this frothing, red-faced rage before People who can't handle change coming to their world reacting with rage and threats of violence: we've been through this before. More: And my lord, Eric Cantor, the number two guy over there, is Jewish. I mean the immediately came out and talked about how horrible it was for this swastika to be painted and said we need to investigate and find out who did it. And to have a Jewish member of the Republican leadership not say a word about that that is just beyond me. I don't understand that. And I'm bothered by that.

POPSWhat happened to the Constitution? Remember the little part in the Constitution about no religious test for public office. It seems like Falling must have been praying when that was taught in school. Pathetic.

POPSRepublicans see themselves in the backseat for YEARS to come. More: Recently named counselor to the Senate Republican leader, Martinez has been a factor in GOP leadership meetings. As the lone Hispanic among Senate Republicans and, briefly, as chair of the Republican National Committee, he tried to move his party toward adopting a policy of comprehensive immigration reform, without success. On Thursday, he was one of only nine Republicans to vote to confirm Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, the first Hispanic to serve on the high court.

POPSU.S. Health Care Stallen in Senate. Now Dead?
I suppose this is why the President wasn't so 'upbeat,' last night in his TV Press conference. I sure don't envy him his job. This Demo Senate leader who has failed the President is up for re-election and I think he should be defeated. Now it's clear the Democratic Congress is NOT supporting the President. What to do? IMO.. Lots of these Democratic Congressional folks should be defeated. I'd suggest voting for fresh faces in the Democratic 2010 Primary (#1)...and if that don't work out vote for a third part in the 2010 elections. Voting Third Party in the USA winnder-take-all system is mainly throwing away your vote...but I'd suggest that rather than voting Republican....and I'd suggest voting for change, new candidates in the Democratic primary #1. It's a bitch. Reid sucks. It's been quite a battle to get this far and I think a lot of very, very good things have been accomplished, but now that Democratic leadership has jumped on the bandwagon against O

Call them now: Boyd (FL) 202-225-5235 -- Voted FOR Driehaus (OH) 202-225-2216 -- Voted FOR Kratovil (MD) 202-225-5311 -- Voted FOR Kanjorski (PA) 202-225-6511 -- Voted FOR Teague (NM) 202-225-2365 -- Voted FOR Check out the complete list of fence-sitters and make some calls now. Stop Pelosi and her bill, which was summarized perfectly by GOP Rep. Rohrbacher, who said, "If this passes, jobs will go to China and economy will go to hell." He's not overstating things. And congratulations are due to the House GOP and its leadership: John Boehner and Eric Cantor. Not a single Republican voted for Pelosi's Socialist nightmare. Well done -- and keep up the good fight.

POPSRepublicans seize control of the New York State Senate It was a noisy and acrimonious scene on the floor of the Senate as Senator Thomas W. Libous, a Republican from Binghamton and the party’s deputy leader, shouted for a roll-call vote, while Democrats attempted to stall the vote by asking to adjourn the session. After the results of the vote were read aloud, the in-house television station that carries Senate proceedings live in the Capitol went dark. All that appeared on the screen was a still photo of the Senate chamber and the words “Please stand by.”

POPSObama the Humble Declares, Israel Freeze All Settlement Activity
This from a president who piously insists that all parties to the conflict honor previous obligations. The entire "natural growth" issue is a concoction. It's farcical to suggest that the peace process is moribund because a teacher in the Jewish Quarter of Jerusalem is making an addition to her house to accommodate new grandchildren -- when Gaza is run by Hamas terrorists dedicated to permanent war with Israel and when Mahmoud Abbas, having turned down every one of Ehud Olmert's peace offers, brazenly declares that he is in a waiting mode -- waiting for Hamas to become moderate and for Israel to cave -- before he'll do anything to advance peace. In his much-heralded "Muslim world" address in Cairo Thursday, Obama declared that the Palestinian people's "situation" is "intolerable." Indeed it is, the result of 60 years of Palestinian leadership that gave its people corruption, tyranny, religious intolerance and forced militarization; leadership that for three generations --

POPSShocker: Dems Tell Obama To Let the Market Decide Dealership Closures So not only do they suddenly and fervently embrace the free market and question the wisdom of raising the unemployment rate by closing the dealerships, they seem to actually care about Obama's running roughshod over Constitutional property rights. However, we are concerned that manufacturers are closing profitable dealerships to circumvent current contracts which could require expensive buy-outs under normal conditions. Now that sounds like a letter written by Newt Gingrich, Steve Forbes, or any one of those greedy capitalist pigs on our side of the aisle. Is the tide turning against Obama on this, or are these spineless wonders, who didn't step in to prevent this takeover in the first place, trying to get to the head of the line for pickings from the carcasses?

POPSObama Gets What He Wished For Well look who's squirming now. Once again, and now under a Democrat President, Democrats find themselves in a panic over being seen as weak on terrorism. In the environment created by President Obama's hasty decisions, selective release of documents from his predecessor's administration, and constant droning on about the miserable legacy he inherited, Speaker Nancy Pelosi sought to cover up her own participation in the Congressional-Executive consultations on terrorist interrogation -- and then attempted to deflect evidence to the contrary by dismissing the US intelligence community as serial liars. Not a single, credible observer believes her account, she was rebuked by her own party's CIA Director, and her number two in the House leadership openly discussed the need for a independent review of her comments.

POPSRep. Devin Nunes (R-Ca.) Calls On Governator To Resign For Putting Fish Ahead Of Farmers delivered a speech on the water crisis in San Joaquin Valley that Nunes described as "little more than lip service and a rehash of what he has said on the subject for years." The lackluster speech, "was kind of the last straw in Nunes' view of how the governor has handled this crisis," Andrew House, his spokesman, said. Nunes made the resignation call without consulting with any other congressional lawmakers or his own leadership, said House. "We see this as an urgent issue that needs to be resolved," House said. "The pumps need to be turned on"

POPSGOP kicks off campaign to reconnect
The GOP is now fighting to regain their footing because the neocons ignored their plummeting popularity while Bush was still in office. Then they reiterated their cynicism towards their constituency by selecting another lackluster politician in the form of Sarah Palin to run as VP. Is the republican leadership willing to step down and allow new people to take the reins? This is the only way I see this organization changing its direction. The real problem with politics is that no matter who sits in the drivers seat, the tax payer gets screwed. After four years we are so fed up with the current administration that the opposing party is almost assured of winning. The campaign season is getting so long that the winner needs only meet two criteria to outlast the others: 1-have the most money and 2-be the most adaptable to the current political tide. Helping Obama get this nation on the road to recovery is not admitting defeat it is helping Americans, this is what the GOP needs to l
