POPSMesh Platforms There seems to be a pretty big focus on 'the mesh' these days. This post from RWW pulls together material from Marc Canter 's upcoming book. It's a good look at the competing platforms that are emerging. The idea of a mesh network is a bit hard to conceptualize. You could say that it's a bunch of communications devices that help each other move data from one point to another. Wikipedia offers a much better, albeit more involved, definition. I found Microsoft's explanation rather easier to grasp. And their Vision video isn't bad either.

POPSFascinating use of Twitter by Zappos from RWW Not that I'm a big marketer or know anything about marketing but this was pretty fascinating. I like the fact that now employees in other countries (China & Indonesia are the examples) can tweet about their work conditions. What does this say about the global community & global companies? I mean, if you know about working conditions in China, how will that affect the way you shop? Pretty interesting.

POPSMaking the most of your RSS Reader from RWW I really dig this short article from RRW. These are things I have thought about, like oversubscribing - is it good or bad? Should I use multiple readers or just stick to one. I have 2 accounts one on bloglines and one on google. But sometimes i feel so overwhelmed with all the subscriptions I have that I just sort of stop reading. These are helpful tips and since next year we will be introducing RSS into the curriculum this might be some helpful pointers for students as well.

POPSWhat is the Buzz about? I was reading RWW and they posted this article on Yahoo Buzz. Does anyone out there know what this is? Do you use Digg? Would you switch? I kind of like the little bit that I am seeing of it. But I need more info so if you know...let me know. It's in Beta testing but the statistics are interesting - serious increase in hits and probably ad revenue. Thoughts?
