POPSWe'll Trade You a Clarence Thomas Recusal for an Elena Kagan One given her work in the Obama administration as solicitor general. Just a few months ago, we levied a massive, historic election defeat upon Democrats that reflected, in large part, the citizens' visceral anger with Obamacare. The individual mandate lynchpin of their health care takeover has been ruled unconstitutional by two federal judges and completely voided to boot. And still the Statist Democrats persist. They just can't stop themselves from destroying the country no matter what the people think. Better still, how about we ask all Marxists progressives to recuse themselves from the Supreme Court and Congress since there's no possible way they could have honestly taken an oath to uphold a document they believe is a joke. POPSCo-Sponsors To Senate Bill to Repeal ObamaCare There are a number of Democrats up for re-election in 2012 who need to hear from the American people right now. These senators include Jon Tester (D-MT), Ben Nelson (D-NE), Jim Webb (D-VA), Claire McCaskill (D-MO), and Joe Manchin (D-WV) . They may not want to listen but it's important that they know you will repeal them at the ballot box if they don't help us repeal the bill. Winning this battle will require perseverance and patience. * First, we have to put each senator on record and force them to vote on repeal over and over again so their constituents know where they stand. * Then, we have to defeat as many pro-Obamacare senators in 2012 as we can. * And finally, we either have to defeat President Obama or win a super-majority in the House and Senate to override his veto before the law goes fully into effect in 2014. Thank you for your willingness to fight for the principles of freedom that make America the greatest nation on earth.

POPSSen. DeMint Introduces Obamacare Repeal Legislation In the Senate It’s time to start over and implement commonsense solutions that allow Americans to choose affordable plans across state lines, end frivolous lawsuits that drive up costs, and gives equitable tax treatment to those who don’t get insurance from their employer.” Posted by Jim Hoft January 26, 2011 http://gatewaypundit.rightnetwork.com

POPSMonster Night for Republicans ~ Mark Kirk Won Ill. Senate Seat The GOP has won Barack Obama's old Senate seat. The symbolism of this win is profound. Democratic candidate Alexi Giannoulias is also a loathsome character, and it's a great thing that he has been denied a US Senate seat. On the House side, Republicans picked up seats in IL-11, IL-14, and IL-17. Robert Dold* appears to be hanging on in IL-10, which would be a crucial GOP hold. And in the surprise of the night, IL-08 is going down to the wire. Melissa Bean is in real danger of losing to flawed Republican candidate Joe Walsh. In the Governor's race, incumbent Pat Quinn holds a microscopic lead over Bill Brady. All in all, it's already a great night for Illinois Republicans, and it could get better. UPDATE: *Dold wins in IL-10. Big, big hold for the GOP. by Benson Guy http://bit.ly/92eBAR http://townhall.com

POPSTSUNAMI ALERT FOR HOUSE: 60 SEAT WAVE With votes still coming in, ABC News expects Republicans to take control of the House of Representatives, just two years after President Obama led Democrats to a commanding majority. With polls closed in 44 states, early returns signal a GOP gain of at least 39 House seats -- enough for Republicans to claim a 218-seast majority. From Virginia to Indiana to Florida, Democratic incumbents felt the wrath of an angry electorate, fueled by record turnout among conservative voters, exit polls showed. POPSAlvin Greene, SC’s “Thinker Outside The Box” State law enforcement officials wrapped up an investigation of Greene’s finances after questions were raised about how he could qualify for indigent defense and afford to pay more than $10,000 to seek the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. Greene’s surprise June 8 upset victory over former circuit judge Vic Rawl initially caused many to speculate Republican operatives had secretly bankrolled Greene’s primary entry fee to sabotage the primary. Rawl’s defeat left Greene the Democratic challenger to U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C. The source of Greene’s money is none other than the U.S. government and the S.C. state government, said SLED director Reggie Lloyd. “That’s who bankrolled Greene’s entry fee for the primary,” said Lloyd, whose agency worked with 5th Circuit Solicitor Barney Giese in the investigation. “The U.S. government and the state of South Carolina funded his filing fee.” http://bit.ly/cSfTHJ http://www.noquarterusa.net

POPSHR 1207 AUDIT THE FED.
GO TO SOURCE AND SEE HOW THEY ALL VOTED......AND FIND OUT WHO THE 'PROGRESSIVES" ARE~ THEY WILL HAVE TO GO.............. This will be on the table again in 2011, when the House majority is Republican, and many new members are liberty-minded. How despicable that so many are corrupt. There is no reason not to support a full audit if you are for the people. This is what the people want, not some watered-down one-time examination of only a small portion of history. That isn’t a fair view of the effectiveness of the Federal Reserve. How can we hope to truly evaluate them if we only have one tiny segment of history to fully know, and the rest remains ambiguous? These politicians clearly do not think like the people, but as politicians, speaking on behalf not of their constituents, but their private interest campaign investors. I hope the voters wake up and get rid of the democrat incumbents, and those republicans who are not for personal liberty, in November, because it’s necessa

POPSTell Congress NO -- NO OBAMACARE THIS TIME, Republican Leader McConnell (at the behest of Sen. DeMint) actually objected to the appointment of the conferees -- something that's almost never done. That means that the Senate ObamaCare bill must be amended on the House floor to gain the votes they need to pass it on the House floor. And because of Sen. DeMint's objection to the appointment of the conferees, there will be no conference, or conference report. Democrats can resort to a fallback: they can propose a motion to appoint conferees, but that motion is subject to filibuster. It would likely require three separate cloture votes just to pass the motion to appoint conferees! So -- the Senate bill goes back to the House, which will have to debate it all over again... including amending it. If the House amends the Senate bill, they then have to send the amended bill back to the Senate -- where all the 60 vote margin cloture votes still apply -- cloture on the motion to proceed,

POPSBuzz Up Article Brings Bigots Out In Droves
I've used Buzz Up but after realizing most of the people who comment, are non-thinking right-wing bigots, so I’ve shied away from it. I came across this article about Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer and his unspeakable remarks about poor people and how most Dems have railed against such distasteful bigotry. It made the Buzz Up-ers angry because they agree with the intolerant ARSE Bauer. Instead of counter commenting, I decided to flag it. Below my comment. The story wasn’t offensive per se; it reported on the bigotry in politics. The comments, on the other hand were so offensive, they made me ashamed to call myself an American. Why are right-wingers so hateful? I don’t use Buzz because it attracts bigots. Buzz has become a place where they can spew animosity towards anyone who doesn't resemble themselves in body or mind. They are proud to admit their ignorance and pat each other on their virtual backs in agreement. Thumbs up on hate and down on any contradiction to their idea of reality. :-?

POPSRepublican Attorneys General in 13 States Threaten Lawsuit Over Health Care
The 60-39 vote marked the third time in as many days Democrats posted a supermajority needed to advance the legislation. The letter was signed by top prosecutors in Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington state. All are Republicans, and McMaster and the attorneys general of Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania are running for governor in their respective states. Last week, McMaster said he was leading several other attorneys general in an inquiry into the constitutionality of the estimated $100 million deal he has dubbed the "Cornhusker Kickback." Republican U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Jim DeMint of South Carolina raised questions about the legislation, which they said was amended to win Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson's support. "Because this provision has serious implications for the country and the future of our nation's legislative process .....

POPSThere is A Blizzard in Hell Tonight! Dems Vote To Ban ACORN Funds!
Gregg did not surprise me. Hutchinson thinks she can be governor of Texas with missing such a big vote? Old unreliable McCain is sitting this vote out too. Michelle Malkin details McCain’s ACORN coziness Vitter is in LA and that is ACORN country so no surprise here either. I lope Louisiana doesn’t lift a finger to send Vitter back to the Senate! From Michelle Malkin's blog: 5:42pm Eastern. Roll call vote still underway. Several Democrats have voted AYE, including Cardin, Carper, Inouye, Johnson (SD), Murray, Tester, Warner, Bingaman, Begich, Nelson (NE), Webb, Landrieu, Bayh, Conrad, Rockefeller, Dodd, Pryor, Hagan, Kohl, Feingold, Boxer, Nelson (FL), Brown, Harkin, Lincoln, Wyden, Baucus, Klobuchar, Kaufman, Shaheen, Lautenberg (switched from no to yes), Menendez, Stabenow, Leiberman, Levin, McCaskill, Reid, Feinstein, Udall, Bennet (CO) Merkley, Cantwell, Dorgan, Schumer… I am shocked by some of the hardcore lefties here.

POPSUnremarkable - Rep. Boustany and the GOP Response Frankly, Rep. Boustany had no business being in the health care spotlight, despite his status as a heart surgeon. The Louisiana Republican mimicked the same tired & misleading arguments the GOP has made in the past related to the costs of the anticipated legislation. Most misleading, though, was Boustany's assertion that the proposals supported by Democrats amounts to, "Replacing your family’s current health care with government-run health care..." But, nobody's talking about doing that. His general message was that we can't afford reform and that we should approach it from another angle, but this is disingenuous. It was a passive-aggressive and cynical message, suggesting an awareness of the need for reform, but in a different way and at a different time. As Boustany put it, "we need to start over." Don't believe it.

POPSSC Gov. Sanford to Reject Stimulus Money Good advice, Mark. You ought to take it. Your hole's as big as it needs to be right now. The article tells us: is announcement came the same week that South Carolina's unemployment rate shot to 10.4 percent, the second highest in the nation. With those dire figures as a backdrop, national Democrats -- keenly aware of Sanford's rising national stature -- piled on. When your unemployment's the second worst in the nation, you don't turn down funds to expand unemployment benefits. That's what most experts refer to as "stupid as all hell." Of course, Sanford's already running for president in 2012 and is burnishing his flat-Earth economic bona fides. Too bad he feels the need to do make that run the backs of his citizens.

POPSConservative Senator DeMint R-SC Opposes Wall Street Bailout Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas), chairman of the conservative House Republican Study Committee, questioned the proposed bailout Friday, saying he was “unconvinced that this is the proper remedy for our nation at this time.” Rep. Mike Pence (Ind.), another conservative Republican, said in a statement Saturday: “Congress must not hastily embrace a cure that may do more harm to our economy than the disease of bad debt.” "This plan will not only cause our nation to fall off the debt cliff, it could send the value of the dollar into a free-fall as investors around the world question our ability to repay our debts,” said DeMint. “It's also very likely that this plan will extend the cycle of bailouts, encouraging other companies to behave in reckless ways that create the need for even more bailouts, triggering an endless run on our treasury.”

POPS Hillary Clinton-Barack Obama Smack Down January 22, 2008 Who lands a clean punch? Edwards was there, too. In one of the liveliest debates of the 2008 presidential campaign, the three top Democrats slugged it out in Myrtle Beach, S.C. We noted some low blows. Just three Democratic candidates took part in the scorching debate cosponsored by CNN and the Congressional Black Caucus in Myrtle Beach, S.C.: Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. It was the next-to-last such encounter scheduled for the Democrats prior to the Feb. 5 "Super Duper Tuesday" showdown when more than 20 states hold nominating contests. South Carolina Democrats go to the polls Saturday. ?The one (Edwards) he refers to, which "had all three of us" matched against McCain, is from early December?

POPSColbert smokes out political ickiness According to the book Independent Nation, 40 percent of American voters (and 44 percent of those between ages 18 and 29) in 2000 called themselves Independents, and the number has been growing steadily for some time. How has the two-party grip become an immovable object when so many people have jumped overboard or never climbed onto the boat? How can 16 people reject a candidate based upon his occupation? POPS More Children,More Choices Act “Congressional Democrats have been playing politics with their SCHIP re-authorization bill, using it as a vehicle to advance their long-standing agenda of socializing healthcare and creating a new middle-class entitlement. Congress needs to pass a reauthorization of SCHIP that maintains the original intent of the program by providing health insurance for the millions of uninsured, low-income children across the country, not middle-class adults. Our legislation is supported in both the House and the Senate, and gives Congress a viable alternative to reauthorize this important program quickly, without unnecessary government-run healthcare expansions.”
