POPSSexual Predators Living Near Universities Certain sexual predators should be in jail for life. Others, an innocent 17 year old having sex with someone who is 16 sort of thing. A lot of these students entering university still appear like they did in high school, and as such may fall prey to these predators. More needs to be done to protect them, no matter if it creates "different problems" for them or not; they did not have a an issue with causing problems for the victim, why should I care if we cause problems for them now?

POPSMcCain's Desperation There are limits. For a candidate who claims that he'd rather lose a campaign than lose a war this latest McCain slime fest shows that he is the ultimate hypocrite. McCain's accusations are not even clever lies. They're just self-serving, grammar school playground lies. Are people so stupid that they'll buy this tripe?

POPSMcCain's sex-ed lie "shameful; downright perverse" Ad falsely accuses Obama of advocating explicit sex education for kindergartners; the Illinois Senate bill referred to recommended teaching kids to recognize inappropriate touching, encouraged teachers not to go along with "stork"-type myths; it never even suggested "sex education" in the way the ad portrays. McCain lies again.

POPSThe Daily Show vs. Blovation Fest 2008! I've been watching the Daily Show since its first episode, and I started taking it serriously when Jon upped the IQ quotient by replacing Craig Killborne. Now the show pretty much only does indie film makers, political wonks, and third world presidents. How cool is that? The only people who do more serious interviews are Charlie Rose and Bill Moyers, and actually, Bill Moyers described Jon as "The Mark Twain of our time." But why did I clip? for the "Blovation Fest" Quote, which by the way, will be the festival of avant garde noise-punk music I attempt to put on this fall. ;)

POPSDNA Evidence Clears Ramsey Family of JonBenet Death This family has endured so much tragedy. I hope they find the killer. It's hard to imagine that he has not killed others over the years. Sexual predators seem to never stop until they are caught. Check your local Sexual Predators Website; you will be amazed at how many live near you.

According to Vanity Fair magazine Miley's parents were present during this photo shoot. Now I ask you what is really artistic about a 15 yr old young lady topless covered only with a bed sheet? You mean to tell me this was the only thing ARTISTIC you could find to depict this young lady? Wasn't there a far more wholesome way to showcase your daughter Billy Ray then having her likeness plastered on millions of copies of a magazine TOPLESS? I do not wish to be too hard on Miley after all she is only 15 yrs old and I am sure handling more than most adults have to deal with in a life time at a very formidable age. The adults involved however ought to know better. Vanity Fair is fast becoming a sleaze mag like so many others cluttering up the store shelves. POPSEvil Plot of Disney Princess Industry The article is somewhat tongue in cheek but does suggest an interesting question or two about how and by what children are influenced to develop culturally. I saw Enchanted and loved it, despite locking in the basement of my brain an old wizard muttering about ideology. A not infrequent conflict!

POPSSexual Predators Get New Icon Good move! I have always warned my children to beware of giving out ANY personal info online! Good to know that the internet "gods" are watching out for us. Let's see how long before this gets abused too!
