POPSRaised On Hate As one listens to his conservative radio talk personality, one is moved to question whether it's his true self, not because Savage isn't consistent in his views, but because the views are so grotesque it's difficult to believe that anyone-let alone a former beatnik-could espouse them with a straight face. While it's more than passing strange for a homophobic, conservative radio host to work out of San Francisco, Savage continues to broadcast nationally from his base in the city he likes to call "San Fran Sicko. In his book The Savage Nation: Saving America from the Liberal Assault on Our Borders, Language and Culture, he writes, "I was raised on neglect, anger, and hate. I was raised the old-fashioned way."

POPSA Few Things Moore Forgot in Sicko Michael Moore forgot to mention what the United States does have that other countries do not: A Declaration of Independence. A Constitution. A Bill of Rights. The concepts of individual rights, personal choice, free markets, private investment that develops most of the world's new medications, and the benefit of a private relationship between physicians and their patients without third-party interference. In his hymn to every other nation's superiority to America—in proportion to their commitment to collectivism—Michael Moore forgot to mention any American values at all.

POPSAs family movies draw crowds, film makers see gold in G and PG ratings I'm not sure I agree with the first sentence but I'm glad to hear this if it's true. I also believe that the bar between PG and PG-13 has been lowered. AND I wish there were more movies being made that were *just* good! I'm so sick of the fraternity/sorority, sex/sicko, slice and dice, juvenile stuff I saw at my local video store last night.

POPSPerverted Cop Catches Perverted U.S. Attorney These "sting" operations carried out by the police are nauseating. What? They couldn't find an innocent protester to taser or kill? Especially ridiculous are the "stings" they show on TV ad infinitum, of cops posing as prostitutes, so they can catch, but not taser! the johns. What a stupid waste of time. Not only that, but Judge Napolitano (on FOX) says it is unconstitutional, although it was hard to hear him as O'Reilly shouted him down about what a "good thing" stings are despite their unconstitutionality. (Can O'Reilly even speak without shouting?)

POPSMichael Moore is wrong on healthcare People seem to have a hard time connecting what he promotes with socialism, but it seems very obvious to me...and socialism is a failure and produces nations of poor starving people with rich elitists at the helm. Is that really what we want for our country?

POPSUniversal Health Care w/out raising Taxes? Right... Scarier than hell. At least Edwards and Obama admit they're gonna raise taxes. Thing that bothers me most is that for the most part, Richardson was the one guy on the Democratic side that I kinda liked. Guess he had to do it, what with all the others riding the "Sicko" express, but it still smarts.

POPSBUSH ADMIN SUBPOENA MICHAEL MOORE Well these days subpoena's are worth a damn, so my guess Moore can invoke the well established legal discipline of "HELL NO I WON'T GO!" and be back home for dinner. Then again he should go, tell it like it is and show that he has nothing to hide. Then he should go to Congress and repeat word for word, under oath, what he said to the Feds and show the Bush administration how its done.

Two different groups of people. The general porn study was on the whole population. The child porn study was only on felons--and in my judgment, someone who's into child porn is a sicko to start with. There's a lot not understood yet: "It is not at all clear when, or in whom, the viewing spurs action or activates a latent, unconscious desire; or whether such images have little or no effect on the offender’s subsequent behavior. But the relationship probably varies widely."
