POPSClimate Change as Ideology Who would have thought that it would be a leader from a former Soviet Bloc country to lead the charge against junk science and manufactured mass hysteria?

POPSOn skepticism and sexism More: Some people wrote in suggesting that the topic wasn’t worthy of discussion, and that Carrie and I exaggerated the problems. Many of the responses showed that on the contrary, we underestimated the problem and were downright wrong to say that the only sexism in the community is unintentional.… Why is it that feminists are so often misrepresented as being too sensitive, when cases like this clearly show the opposite? Neither Carrie nor I ever told anyone “fuck you.” We never called anyone a sexist. We never lost our temper and we gave everyone the benefit of the doubt, assuming or accepting clarifications that an insult wasn’t intended. If only the same could be said for those who took offense to our discussion.

POPSFaith Based Economics Just forget all of those people who make a living at looking at balance sheets, cost projections, and legislative analysis — trust us! For a party that screeched about returning science to its “rightful place” in policymaking, they seem highly enamored of tarot cards and entrail-reading when it comes to their own fiscal policies. The Obama administration and the Democrats have yet to learn that one cannot spend their way back into solvency. We already have government programs for medical care that don’t work. If Congress wants to overhaul Medicare/Medicaid to make it financially viable, the VA to make it responsive, and Indian Health Service to make it do anything for its consumers, that would be enough for any Congress to do.

POPSSun Not Responsible For Climate Change Professors Peter Adams and Jeff Pierce did a bunch of things that those throwing around the solar excuse didn't: a) They did detailed work analyzing the actual effects of such activity b) They actually understood what such effects would really even be c) They rigorously applied scientific procedures to this research, constructed computer models, and would have reported the results either away d) They spent many, many years earning PhDs in scientific research and the title of "Professor." We have to say, d) is our favorite. "This paper is the final nail in the coffin for people who would like to make the sun responsible for present global warming," Stefan Rahmstorf, a climate scientist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany, told the journal Nature. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/scienceandtechnology/science/sciencenews/3300177/Sun-not-responsible-for-climate-change.html

POPSFor its next act, the G8 will part the Red Sea That's why the Senate in 1997 voted 95-0 against any global-warming treaty that exempted developing nations like China. Now China wants none of the G8's goal for it to halve its greenhouse gases -- and the Dems are stuck with a leader who wants to save the planet.
