Wash U Shuts Down Freedom Memorial on 20 Year Anniversary of End of Communism- It Was Too Offensive Video
merrie
by merrie  11-10-2009
“We’re hoping to elevate the thinking of students about the connection between socialism, tyranny, and murder. Too often, we tend to think about state control in the abstract. This event is an opportunity to show the student body what socialism really is,” said junior Dirk Doebler, student leader of Young Americans for Liberty and lead organizer of the event. “We’re just twenty years away from the collapse of the Soviet Union’s despotic enslavement of hundreds of millions of people, yet everyone seems to forget that socialism killed over 150,000,000 people in the 20th century. All that gets lost in the convenient narrative our professors would have us believe. With this event, we’re striking down false notions. We’re speaking truth to power.” This event aims at showing the horrors of the implementation of that idea. ** There is more video to come of the university shutting down the gulag.

Cloward/Piven Strategy of Economic Recovery
dl211
by dl211  11-10-2009    6
Obama adheres to the Saul Alinksy Rules for Radicals method of politics, which teaches the dark art of destroying political adversaries. However, that text reveals only one front in the radical left's war against America. The Cloward/Piven Strategy is another method employed by the radical Left to create and manage crisis. This strategy explains Rahm Emanuel's ominous statement, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste." The Cloward/Piven Strategy is named after Columbia University sociologists Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their goal is to overthrow capitalism by overwhelming the government bureaucracy with entitlement demands. The created crisis provides the impetus to bring about radical political change.

POLITICAL AFFILIATION BY SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS
dl211
by dl211  11-10-2009    1
If one’s mind-set is rooted in the new liberalism, one tends not to be materialistically successful. If one is unsuccessful, one is likely to support intermedling state authority in the hope that through government management, he or she will be provided for by economic-leveling. Those who support "progressive" government, hope to escape their personal ineffectiveness. Those who are intellectually advanced, do not support the advancement of centralized power that encroaches upon, and diminishes their liberty.

Pages, Costs, and Agencies Added To The Obama/Pelosi Health Care Behemoth

“Additionally, this bill cuts critical Medicare and Medicaid funding by $628 billion, accounts for nearly $1.2 trillion in tax and fee increases and will explode the scope of government by putting the nation’s health care system in the hands of Washington bureaucrats. The $3 trillion price tag defies common sense " we simply cannot add all this new spending to the government rolls and claim to control the deficit. “If we continue to pile more and more debt on the next generation, they will never be able to get out from under it. The health care system needs reform, but this massive expansion of government, financed by our children and grandchildren, is the wrong way to proceed.” And listen…this is what our government believes will be the cost. But look at programs our government has run historically and you find decades of added costs and overruns that our forced onto the taxpayer. Socialism Kills: The Human Cost of Delayed Economic Reform in India
merrie
by merrie  11-7-2009    1
What would the impact on social indicators have been had India commenced economic reform one decade earlier, and enjoyed correspondingly faster economic growth and improvements in human development indicators? This paper seeks to estimate the number of "missing children," "missing literates," and "missing non-poor" resulting from delayed reform, slower economic growth, and hence, slower improvement of social indicators. It finds that with earlier reform, 14.5 million more children would have survived, 261 million more Indians would have become literate, and 109 million more people would have risen above the poverty line. The delay in economic reform represents an enormous social tragedy. It drives home the point that India's socialist era, which claimed it would deliver growth with social justice, delivered neither. by Swaminathan S. The rotten estates England

Everything that is bad about the English system is evidence here. These lazy, greedy perpetrators of perpetual socialism have been protected by the liberal correctness regimes put in place by successive governments. Everything about that statement is wrong, except the facts. The fact that these people are allowed to raise more generations of worthless flesh is as abhorrent to the hard working Briton as the devious and malicious enterprises of the Bankers and their cohorts, the politicians. Absolutely no system has the panacea for all societies’ ills, but this system that relies on the influential few to circumvent the wishes of the people by allowing the ill-educated to proliferate whilst Labour imports their supporters from foreign lands is treason. Get the illiterate masses educated. Once they learn the hard lesson of real education they would have no need to wallow in self pity, smoke their tax free cigarettes and produce off-spring that every tax payer I the land has to subsi

Today, 20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, 57 percent, or an absolute majority, of eastern Germans defend the former East Germany. "The GDR had more good sides than bad sides. There were some problems, but life was good there," say 49 percent of those polled. Eight percent of eastern Germans flatly oppose all criticism of their former home and agree with the statement: "The GDR had, for the most part, good sides. Life there was happier and better than in reunified Germany today." Something in the water perhaps?

One of The Biggest Bait-And-Switch Acts in History

I'm thinking it's time to pronounce Obama and his agenda precisely what they are - socialist and looking to bring down the last great remaining free capitalist system in the world so as to bring it in line with too much else of a statist world. What else can one call it with any degree of honesty? Certainly liberal no longer serves. The Left abandoned classic liberalism a decade ago. And the New Left has only gotten worse. It's time to draw the battle lines more clearly, start speaking of what freedom, capitalism, individualism and self-determinism actually are and explain to people how they won't be much of anything in some new Obama-designed state. It's time to forget about compromise and begin rejecting Obama and his grand plans completely as he and they deserve for being un-American in the most important meanings of the word. Obama sold his healthcare proposal as a way to reduce costs and help the economy. But, Pawlenty says,

One Nation Under God

This is not a Republican painting. This is not anything other than one artist's personal feelings about his love for Christ, this country and a desire to make a point about where we are headed. Our government has grown so big and powerful that the rights of the individual are at risk. This is what the Constitution was about—to limit the size of government. The patriotic heroes who stand behind Christ and the Constitution are pleading with us to defend the cause of liberty. Many of these people symbolize those who have pushed our country towards Socialism. The author states: “I hoped that this painting would encourage dialogue and debate”. Racist Undertones Of The 'Socialist' Epithet

More From The Article: Take another black leader, another society fraught by racial division. In 1956, Nelson Mandela and 155 other antiapartheid activists were arrested by the South African government under the infamous Suppression of Communism Act of 1950, a law that was used gratuitously to incarcerate anyone who was critical of the government. The treason trial that followed resulted in a 1961 acquittal for all those involved, the government unable to prove any "socialist" intentions. But the political equation of black activists as "communists" would continue up through the 1980s. The Reagan administration egregiously soft-pedaled the issue of apartheid on the basis of the South African government's purported anticommunist stance. Indeed, the South African government itself viewed its policies not as racist, but as anticommunist. Only popular pressure through a global antiapartheid movement persuaded the US to isolate South Africa. It takes the cry of "socialism!" liter

Self Proclaimed Elites and Tyranny

"there’s little or no distinction between Nazism and socialism. Even the word Nazi is short for National Socialist German Workers Party. The origins of the unspeakable horrors of Nazism, Stalinism and Maoism did not begin in the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s. Those horrors were simply the end result of long evolution of ideas leading to consolidation of power in central government in the quest for “social justice.” "Few Americans have the stomach or ruthlessness to do what is necessary to make their governmental wishes come true. They are willing to abandon constitutional principles and rule of law so that the nation’s elite, who believe they are morally and intellectually superior to the rest of us, can have the tools to implement “social justice.” "Those tools are massive centralized government power. "It just turns out last century’s notables in acquiring powerful central government, in the name of social justice, were Hitler, Stalin, Mao, but the struggle for social j

Media Ignoring Conservatives' Return to Dominance of Political Book Market

In September of that year, the Boston Globe proclaimed liberals "triumphant" against "conservatives' decade long hold on popular culture." Yes, it seemed such wonderful liberal values were finally en vogue. Barnes and Noble, reacting to the outpouring of Bush-bashing literature in August of 2003 announced that it would set up ‘political science/cultural affairs' tables at its stores to feature the newest partisan works. But conservatives have reclaimed their hold on the Times's bestseller page. The closest any of the top 15 hard-cover non-fiction books gets to a defense of liberalism or the Obama Administration is In Fed We Trust by David Wessel "The books from the left strike me as an obvious reaction to Bush," conservative commentator Tucker Carlson told the Associated Press in 2003. "And for people who buy them, it's a way of voting against him in an off-election year." With Bush gone, liberals no longer have a blatant target at whom to direct a coordinated
