Why Does The Government Keep Protecting People from Their Stupidity
cmstratton
by cmstratton  7-21-2008
These credit rules are just the latest in a long line of our government feeling the need to protect consumers from their own ignorance and stupidity. I'll be the first to admit credit card rules and fees are difficult to understand. But consumers should be smart enough to know this, and not get in situations where they spent more than they can afford on their cards and end up paying these fees. Pay your bills on time and late fees aren't an issue. Don't charge more than you can afford to pay back at the end of the month and finance charges aren't an issue. There's no need for additional government legislation around this. If the gov really wants to spend our taxpayer money wisely, spend it on education programs to teach people how to be smart with their money.

Liberalism: Can it survive?
esundby
by esundby  7-18-2008
Just another clip about bitter liberals. This was written by John Leo in the U.S. News & World Report, March 7th 2005. I clipped a great paragraph that I think sums up so many of the liberals I've encountered(perhaps not all, but many). The entire article is worth a read.

War Zero Nothing Honorable About the Vietnam War
papananook
by papananook  7-18-2008
Between one and two million Vietnamese and 58,000 Americans were sent to their deaths by a succession of presidents and Congresses–fed to the flames of greed, hubris, and stupidity. The event used to justify starting the war–the Tonkin Gulf “incident”–never happened. The Vietnam War’s ideological foundation, the mantra cited to keep it going, was disproved after we lost. No Southeast Asian “dominos” fell to communism. To the contrary, the effect of the U.S. withdrawal was increased stability. When genocide broke out in neighboring Cambodia in the late 1970s, it was not the U.S., but a unified Vietnamese army–the evil communists–who stopped it. Not even General Wesley Clark, shot four times in Vietnam, is allowed to question the McCain-as-war-hero narrative. “Well, I don’t think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,” he argued. The Obama campaign, which sells its surrogates down the river with alarming regularity, promptly hung the former

Some of the most terrible things are here and this is att best, the tamest portion. Seekers wishing to go further are warned....

Is she "the Patron Saint of Terror" or a real HEROINE?
righthand
by righthand  7-17-2008    17
Did she "for all intents and purposes committed suicide" as this Zionist alleges? Must all victims of Zionist atrocities somehow become the authors of their own deaths? Fleeing women and children become suicidal maniacs? It's so easy now to stick suicide beside Arab or Muslim and blame them for their own murder. And if it works with Arabs why not on Arab sympathisers, even American sympathisers. All deserve to die in the fascist meat grinder. Well when they can murder 34 brave men on USS Liberty with no consequence what do you expect for a slip of a lass like Corrie , full of youthful idealism. Death! And a tarnished reputation!

Skills crisis!!! to work at maccas or kill more chicken!!! they really think we are stupid!!!!! more evidence of coorporate greed (lousy product, most minimum wage possible) and government stupidity (allowing their business friends to import cheap labor with no strings attached) which will result in an influx of immigrants (read cheap labor so the rich can get even more profit without having to pay real wages and these immigrants wont care about rights and pensions etc) therefore the australian worker is by passed, . , as it is they can't ever get your order right.

sillysam
by sillysam  6-11-2008    4
Soaring rhetoric, indeed. Finally, channeling Bill Clinton’s “is-is” parsing, Obama attempted to argue that his dubious veep selection committee members don’t really “work” for him: “They’re performing that job well. It’s a volunteer, unpaid position. And they’re giving me information, and I will then exercise judgment in terms of who I want to select as a vice presidential candidate. So these aren’t folks who are working for me, they’re not people I have assigned to a particular job in a future administration.” There are only so many gaffes, missteps, mistakes, flubs, and self-delusional statements one can make before serial naivete becomes endemic stupidity. Obama has reached the point of no return.

Did Iranian agents dupe Pentagon officials?
ratilfar
by ratilfar  6-6-2008    1
But wait there is more: "The Senate report said that Pentagon officials never followed up on the investigators' recommendation for a comprehensive analysis of whether Ghorbanifar or his associates tried "to directly or indirectly influence or access U.S. government officials." The counterintelligence investigators recommended that U.S. officials attempt "to map Ghorbanifar's relationship within Iranian elite social networks and, if possible, his contacts with other governments and/or intelligence organizations," but that effort was never undertaken."
