POPSSexual Assault and the Military As long as men hunt women, rape and kill them, there will be no peace. If it is condoned, covered up and down played by the System, whether military or civilian, we must do all we can to change the system.

POPSShould Conyers Impeach or Write Another Book About Bush's Crimes? Three years ago, Conyers' staffers on the Judiciary Committee produced a book about Bush and Cheney's impeachable offenses. Some of us helped them do it. After all, they were in the minority and couldn't do much more than write books. But now? In the majority? Now, should they be accepting that Congress no longer has subpoena power? Now, should they be accepting that Congress no longer has the power to legislate? Now, should they be accepting that Congress has no power of the purse? Now, should they be devoting tax dollars to the pointless vanity of doing what anyone else can do: writing yet another book on Bush and Cheney's latest impeachable offenses

POPSRove in Contempt You've got to wonder what this could mean for McCain's campaign . The last thing Baghdad Johnny needs is a very public example of how he's joined at the hip to the Bush admin. through McCain adviser Rove -- especially in the context of how crooked they all are.

POPSHouse Panel votes to cite Rove for contempt "His name has come up repeatedly in the hearings on this subject," said Judiciary Chairman John Conyers, D-Mich. "Yet he refuses to testify based on legally invalid claims of immunity privilege."

POPSSend Karl Rove To Jail! - Why? Karl Rove needs to be sent to jail so Bush can pardon him. Really this is serious. After all, poor W. Bush owes turdblossom so much and what a nice way to thank him. --- How can Karl Rove believe he is above the LAW? Apparently, he feels he is. And if he goes on ignoring a Congressional Subpoena and gets away with it, he is above the law! OK everyone, A great big kiss GOODBYE to what we thought was the American Justice System, ( I kissed it goodbye when it comes to the Bush-Neocons, over 7 years ago, so it's No New News to me)! This picture says it all! http://www.peacebuttons.info/E-News/images/KarlRove.gif and this http://www.newscorpse.com/Pix/RoveUnderstands.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWQ5ZMnz25I Sign Petition here: http://bravenewfilms.org/petitions/show/22-tell-the-house-judiciary-committee-to-hold-karl-rove-in-contempt-and-send-him-to-jail

POPSRove Ignores Subpoena I've said it before and I'll say it again ; send out the Sergeant at Arms to arrest him. He's going to ignore anything short of that.

POPSJudiciary Committee Willl Subpoena Atty. Gen. Mukasey It's about damn time they get off the dime to follow and prosecute the LAW they have all sworn to uphold. If Mukasey balks or won't testify under oath, that trick BushCo loves, they better arrest his sorry ass and let him sit for contempt until he does.

POPS20 Ex-Prosecutors Side with Congress in Subpoena Case The piece goes on: "If permitted to enforce its subpoenas for documents and testimony, Congress has a unique ability to address improper partisan influence in the prosecutorial process," the former prosecutors wrote. "No other institution will fill the vacuum if Congress is unable to investigate and respond to this evil." In other words, allow the subpoenas or the WH is above the law.

POPSMcClellan Would Be 'Glad To' Testify Don't get too excited, there's this : Think Progress reported this afternoon that White House spokesperson Dana Perino told reporters Friday during a press conference that the White House could possibly stop McClellan from testifying before Congress...

POPS Karl Rove Unraveling: Congress threatens arrest.
ormer White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a surprisingly scathing memoir to be published next week that President Bush “veered terribly off course,” was not “open and forthright on Iraq,” ALSO, RE; ROVE, McClellan asserts that Karl Rove, the president’s senior adviser, “Scooter” Libby and VP Cheney had a meeting on how to handle the Valarie Plame CIA leak case (i.e. a collusion in a Federal case) NOW a Congresswoman on the Judiciary Committee, said on TV yestereday that if Rove doesn't show up for a subpoena --- concerning the Siegelman's case. ---CONGRESS WILL ARREST HIM! Who knew Congress could arrest people!? (like a parliament deciding to arrest someone). Well, it turns out there is actually a one room jail in Congress and they can send out the 'sergeant at arms,' and (without the police or courts), go out and arrest someone. Whew! This just keeps getting -- as Alice in Wonderland cried -- ''Curiouser and curiouser!" Isn't it great! The wheels

POPSKarl Rove Believes He Is Above The Law Emotionally, I believe this man deserves the "harsh interrogation" our government believes is "OK". Rationally, he should be subpoenaed and if he fails to honor that legal move arrested and tried. Frankly, I see him as a terrorist of a stripe equal to that of any foreign nationals we have identified as such.

POPSEPA Chief On The Regulation Of Greenhouse Gases "Global warming is a complicated and nuanced topic that needs smart and carefully-devised solutions. And because the policies needed to achieve greenhouse gas reductions also stand to damage our economy, these policies must be both economically and politically feasible," said Sensenbrenner. "But left in the hands of regulators and the courts, greenhouse gas reductions could have serious consequences on our economy and our way of life," he said. "And I'm afraid the Massachusetts v. EPA Supreme Court decision runs the risk of putting this political question in the hands of unelected regulators." "We're not talking about just new cars and, ultimately, power plants," the Wisconsin Republican said, "this could also include several types of buildings, including small factories, assisted living facilities, indoor sports arenas and even breweries. Where I'm from, we don't like the sound of that."

POPSGoogle Health, HIPAA, and privacy A short post from Profy.com reminding us that Google Health and Microsoft HealthVault are not covered by HIPAA privacy regulations. Sure, they have strict privacy policies, but -- as the post asks -- what about the first time an insurance company subpoenas your records trying to fight a workers comp claim?
