Good job too. If militants get a foothold in the Archipelago of Indonesia, they would be very hard to root out. The govt is not popular in some areas.

Mega-quakes rare, but can occur anywhere
pokkets
by pokkets  3-10-2008
26 Dec was the day of the Indonesian Tsunami. The result of a Sumatran earthquake. As a result that large, or they discovered Magnitude 9 earthquakes can happen in more places than they had thought. One of the problems is that the seismograph was invented 100 years ago, and records over 300 years old are fairly inaccurate. Of course the movement of tectonic plates that cause earthquakes is a slow process. but there can be a shake of some degree anywhere they meet. The more pressure that builds up before the move, the larger the quake.

Storms, Earthquakes and Secret Warfare
blueridge
by blueridge  11-19-2007    3
The "Pentagon's New Map" targets certain regions of the world for "regime change", including South America and largely Islamic-influenced areas abroad. It is interesting that the Indonesian Tsunami, major quakes in Iran and the middle east, the typhoons in Bangladesh, fall within the Pentagon's New Map. As a previous clip showed a typhoon in Bangladesh in 1970 killed 500,000 people. The Sumatra Tsunami killed over 200,000 while the Navy DID KNOW that a tidal wave was in route yet did not warn the Islanders. (Navy has major base in Diego Garcia; advanced technolgoy and communications make the idea of "no warning" incredible). Note Brzezinski's quote above about using Tesla technology to work earthquakes and weather modification is not new, and that it is being used to some extent by secret military applications (U.S. and Russia) has been admitted. The article should be noted also in that if it is possible to "steer" hurricanes (or foment them) puts Katrina in another light.

The End-times & Indonesia
ouyangwulong
by ouyangwulong  9-12-2007    14
Now, I'll admit, it must kind of suck to live in Indonesia, given the yearly earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic erruptions, government opression, open civil war, not to mention chronic religous strife, mob violence, poverty, hunger, and homelessness. But today I heard someone commenting that this was all a sign of the End-times of Biblical prophecy. Another person involved in the conversation remarked that "it must be terrifying to believe in God when bad stuff like that happens." Then it struck me how just how much terror God inspired in people. The idea of a supreme being seems not only to inspire hope and ecstasy, but also trepidation and fear. Though many people, through profound intellectual effort, preserve faith in a deity as a solely positive force in their lives, there are no doubt just as many who fail. Could this mixture of exaltation and intimidation created by faith in some people be responsible for the noticeable link between terrorist violence and religious zea
