POPSA letter to the Mail
It is just over thirty years since Sgt Ray Beamish 1st Fld Reg RhA, and others were murdered by terrorists they were 'converting', much against what the mass of voices were screaming silently from within Army itself. It was in 1964 that the police in Aden city turned their guns on the Brits soldiers and were 'put down' by 45 Commando and the Gordons. Yesterday 5 more young men, and probably more, were gunned down by a rogue policeman and Brown still waffles out his venal apologies to the Nation, and his supporters swallow it hook line and sinker. In N. Ireland the situation is as desperate as when I stood the barricades exactly 40 years ago, and everyone tells how much improved it all is. Get real. The only thing that has happened is that far too many Brits have died, the taxpayer has forked out billions to immoral politicians, both here and abroad, bankers have got richer and politicians haven't the slightest notion of why they have got us into so much doodoo. The question I want an

POPSThe National Felons League Yes once again hypocrisy reigns supreme in the halls of political correctness. We strain out gnats only to swallow camels. Whether you like Rush Limbaugh or not in America, as an American citizen, he has the right to engage in any legitimate free enterprise he so desires. Or are we no longer the land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE?

POPSBlessing/Curse of First People's Genetic Adaptation People who live in harsh environments for more than 500 years, adapt genetically and culturally to that climate. Modern ways and diets are attractive but produce disease because of disconnect between how their bodies were adapted to a non-modern lifestyle. The epidemic of diabetes among first nation children and young adults has been accelerating as traditional ways of living fade. This is not limited ot First Americans but this article illustrates the problem well and how difficult it is to deal with.

POPSImagine world without suffering... ...And this world is just step away. Away from killing. Animal, birds, fish... whoever we (most of us now) are eating. God (Mother Nature, Karma, whatever it is) not forgiving us for breaking its rules to live in harmony with surrounding world and punishing us for our ignorance. If only diabetes! Whole metabolic syndrome with depressions and host of mood disorders, disfiguring obesity, heart failure as direct result. Everything starting from what we putting in our mouths. Far from everything what we can chew and swallow can be good for your body! Watch what you eating and drinking! Educate yourself. You will be terrified what we doing now and inevitably come to the vegan lifestyle, where is no place for cruelty, diseases, tricks and sufferings.

POPSA clarification of "The Terrible Bargain" More: Iain's taken a long look at the Terrible Bargain from its other side, and doesn't want the easy comfort of unexamined privilege at the cost of my trust. And so he does his best to quell that reflexive defensiveness and listen. And in those moments of listening, we forge a new bargain, lovingly struck: He looks inside himself for the hardened bits of internalized misogyny that yet linger, unexamined; I hand him in exchange the crumbling bricks of a protective wall built long before we met. The rubble collects at our feet, and we kick it away.

POPSMetaphors We Live By A short step whence to seeing all language as metaphor and metaphor as the meeting of the body and consciousness. Hard to stomach for right-angled rationalists, those who carry tablets of stone truths, number crunchers and those who live in a bricked-up mind. Spot the metaphors.

POPSBanished and Saved And what do you know, it did become better, in every area of my life. Do you feel like life is threatening to engulf you? Are you afraid that your problems will swallow you whole? Know that this isn't the end. Know that the Lord will come and He can save you too.

POPS Finding My Inner Pelosi Friday, September 18, 2009 Nancy chokes up. I guess you've seen this ridiculous mash of political will and phony emotion. "But, again, our country is great because people can say what they think and they believe, but I also think that they have to take responsibility for any incitement that they may cause." Okay, then, I think that you are desperate and depleted of arguments on the merits of the atrocious, amorphous health care reform you thought the American people would swallow whole simply because you won an election and we tend to regard Barack Obama as a well-meaning person. And now you are babbling and whining about the way people are talking. And I hope you will take responsibility for this embarrassing display. You haven't done your job and now you are crying in public " you, the first female Speaker of the House. Crying. Pretending to be afraid of violence when the talk that troubles you so hasn't even included threats of violence. althouse.blogspot.com/

POPSDay in the Life of Joe Six-Pack Republican One thing I enjoy most about people is our ability to poke fun at each other. Political humor especially intrigues me because despite the fact that we are all striving for what’s best for our families we each have our own ideals on how to best do it. ColoradoRight clipped a list of 21 Ways to Be A Good Liberal http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/26BD1DF0-B8CF-4F7A-A2CE-E9704D0719D7/ In the interest of equal opportunity, here’s one for the other side. Enjoy as we hear a few final words of ‘wisdom’ from Joe Six-Pack Republican. “Joe turns on a radio talk show. The host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn't tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees. "We don't need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I'm a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

POPSWhite House Setting Stage to Rahm Through Obamacare That will set up a Democratic argument that Senate leaders have been forced to use a partisan budget tool known as reconciliation to pass a health bill through the Senate by a simple majority, instead of 60 votes. Under the budget plan they passed earlier this year, Democrats could invoke the reconciliation process on Oct. 15. Republicans contend that the use of reconciliation would be at odds with Obama’s call for bipartisanship during his 2008 presidential campaign. But Obama has countered that argument in recent days by forcefully resurrecting the anti-Washington rhetoric that got him elected. Posted by Gateway Pundit

POPSSolar System Guardian Jovian impacts are nothing new nor or they rare. Given Jupiter's large size (large comparable to Earth) it's gravitational field is large enough and strong enough to lock onto any wayward piece of solar system debris and swallow it up.

POPSCooking for others is love Conclusion: I smiled, sat and sipped my soup, while watching everyone else eat. When I looked up, Bill was sitting across from me on a floor pillow. He hadn’t touched his soup, even though he hadn’t eaten all day. He was just gazing around, smiling goofily. “Now I understand,” he whispered, “Why you barely eat anything when you cook for people. You don’t need to.” I grinned and rose, heading back to the kitchen after finishing my last swallow of my meager bowl of soup. When Bill followed me, I nodded. “My food is their delight, not the food I cook.” As he sipped his soup, I turned back to the stove. “Let’s get back to work,” I said. “Spring rolls can’t roll and fry themselves, you know.”

POPSWhy rape is not "just rough sex" [CAUTION: likely triggery] More: Worse: imagine that you are so frightened that the person will kill you that you just lie there, unresisting, unmoving, trying hard not to really be there in your body because then the stick shoving dessert down your throat doesn’t hurt quite so badly…. Imagine that you survive the forced-feeding, and that as your attacker leaves you, either in the place of attack or having dropped you off somewhere to make your own way home, that they mock you by talking about how wonderful your favourite dessert tasted, and how lucky you were that they gave you more of it than you’d ever had before. And now for the kicker: * Imagine that when you tell people what happened, and how bad it was, and how scared you were and how hurt your body is, they look at you blankly, and say: “But what’s the problem? Everybody knows that you really, really like that dessert!”
