Berawal sebagai bintang tamu hanya untuk beberapa episode dalam sinetron tersebut, akhirnya dipercaya sebagai pemain tetap. Basuki meninggal dunia di Rumah Sakit Melia Cibubur, Jakarta Timur, Rabu (12/12/07) karena serangan jantung. Jenasah Basuki dimakamkan di pemakaman umum Kampung Kandang, Jalan Moh Kahfi II, kawasan Cinere, Depok, Jawa Barat, pada hari Kamis (13/12/07).
