POPSSelf-Portraits in Oil - BB art series
"According to my theory, all our basic sexual instincts except their straightforward manifestations are the instrument in the hands of an artist. In this series I’m taking the basic instrument – my body and inspired by great artists use their techniques, my experience and plunge into the intercourse to unite and be one. I’m overwhelmed by desire to not primitively mimic the technique, but plunge inside, learn what was driving the genius, what inspired him. Before starting each work I studied in detail the work of the artist. It’s a kind of a present to my favourite artists. All the materials or textures used in the compilations were painted by me in oil. All works are self-portraits." ...Katerina Tumanova (Belkina) Country: Odincovo, Russian Federation Title: Paint Russian digital artist, painter and photographer, born in Samara. POPSEver wondered what's used to make those cool movie trailer transitions? Your answer within. These guys should team up with NewBlueFX and do some serious asskicking in the cinematic industry! Not that they're *not* doing that already, of course. ;) The trailers on here are so well-put-together and really illustrate a lot of what we've come to take for granted, sometimes as cliches. But really, it's movie magic!

POPSGenetica: The best free texture tool on the net Spiral Graphics is doing amazing things. Along with the free Genetica Viewer, I strongly recommend their Wood Workshop (also free) and the huge texture packs. If you don't want to download and install these tools, there's one more chance: their web site has a built-in Genetica plugin so you can browse, render and download the textures you selected. Excellent resource.

POPSAn Optimistic View of the World- by astronaut Dan Tani And second, trust. I learned trust from my mother, and in a way, this essay is for her.I came to believe, like she did, that most people want to live their lives without conflict. They care about the other people in their house, their neighborhood, their country and their planet.I wish that everyone could see the world from my perspective; I believe that more people would be optimistic about our future. Click on the Gallery you will not help but awe of earth and want to be optimistic about the future.

POPSWhy We Kiss Studies show that as many as 80 percent of mothers, whether right-handed or left-handed, cradle their infants on their left side. Infants cradled, face up, on the left must turn to the right to nurse or nuzzle. As a result, most of us may have learned to associate warmth and security with turning to the right.

POPSA touchy feely invisible cosmos The Universe in Braille. Sounds unlikely, but the point is made that the images we see that have been taken by the Hubble, Chandra X-Ray, and Spitzer infra Red Telescopes, are graphis representations of wavelengths outside the visible spectrum. There is no reason a blind person would have any less accurate picture of the Universe than a sighted person. Perhaps their view can be clearer, because they are not made blind by preconception.
