POPSWhy Your Boss Is White, Middle-class And A Show-off A very nice study! Pointing just to the point of how things have not changed since men appeared. The more we will not attend to it, individually and otherwise, the more the gaps in relation to the advancement in technology and philosophy... will widen.

POPSNo program has won the gold or silver prizes "No program has won the gold or silver prizes. The silver would go to a machine that could pass a longer version of the Turing Test and fool at least half the judges. The gold would go to a machine that could process audio and visual information rather than just text. " "Despite _ or maybe because of _ his win, Roberts said he did not buy Turing's argument. "I don't think it's anything like thought," he said of Elbot's conversational prowess. "If you know a magic trick, you know how it's done, it's not magic anymore. Sorry to be so pessimistic." Still i think this event is important in the path of AI emergence.

POPSWave Powered Boat to cross Pacific!!! when a big ship is raised a few feet by the ocean swell, think how much energy it takes to lift several thousand tonnes.. Now think of that same ship alongside a quay, and a lever extracting that same energy as it lowers the ship back down before the next swell.. Cmon you engineers!

POPSIt aint over til its over The fat lady has not sung. The bell has not rung. Any complacency on the part of the Obama camp is foolish. Think USC v. Oregon State. Think Truman v Dewey

POPSThe truth of who Obama is...it's not hard to find Think Americans! This man is the completion of a coup de'tat whch has been carefully planned and engineered from the socialist/marxist think tank and engined by ACORN,the Wood commission, the Annenberg challenge and key people in congress and the senate(Frank,Dodd,Meeks,Waters,et al.)

POPSDangers of "Group Think" Evident in March to War These are characteristics of most all groups, especially highly charged political parties which are easily recognized here. Note the silence of individuals plays a key role in conformity. Speak up! Collective Rationalization reminds me of the "group think" that led America to war against Iraq (per the neoconservatives preconceived plans), even though it did not harbor terrorists or attack the U.S., just because Bush and Cheney, after 9/11, said so. This same "group think" is within the entire story of 9/11 and the Collective Rationalization for a continued "war on terrorism" to invade other countries at will. GROUP THINK MUST BE CHALLENGED TO PREVENT UNJUST WARS. Number 8 (did not have room to clip) is here: Mindguards: Some members appoint themselves to the role of protecting the group from adverse information that might threaten group complacency.

POPSRational Disagreement or Rabid Hatred? Click the link to read this entire article; it makes some very good points. Drawing equivalences between right-wingers and left-wingers is not a valid exercise. The Democrats (and Liberals) see their differences from the Republicans (and Conservatives) as a nuanced disagreement of ideals, while Republicans see it as an absolute battle of Good vs. Evil. They aren't opposing Obama because they disagree with his platform; they are against him because they think he's evil. He's been called the Anti-Christ (critical study of Revelations will reveal that he's too old). At rallies, people are screaming to kill him, and cut off his head. It's come to the point where you can't even take it for granted that Republicans accept the fact that Obama is human, just like McCain. This Republican base is acting on a very primitive level, like a lizard-brain, with no critical thought about what they're doing or why they oppose him.

POPSSatisfied? Now? Who Are These People? One of the first people I met was "satisfied," but she'd also been drinking that afternoon and wouldn't let me use her name. (I directed her to the closest bar.) Later I found a really sweet couple satisfied with the way things are going in America, because they live in Canada. Lynda Race, of Arlington, Va., who is "almost 50," boiled it down: "I love America. Where else would you be more satisfied?" Clip Song

POPSViva McCain Katie Couric asked each candidate recently what his favorite movie was. Obama gave an utterly conventional answer: "Oh, I think it would have to be The Godfather. One and two. Three not so much. Umm. So-so, but, but that--that saga--I love that movie." Lawrence of Arabia. Great film. One of my favorites--and then Casablanca. Who doesn't like Casablanca? Couric: I asked for one. Obama: I'm a movie guy. I can rattle off a bunch of movies. But that Casablanca, you know. That's Obama. He's glib, conventional, won't make a real choice, shows nothing about himself, and says nothing offputting and says nothing impressive.

POPSToo Little, Too Late The comment by the woman who claimed that Obama was an Arab was the clinching justification that a large segment of the McCain supporters are deluded, gullible, and ignorant. It concerned me that people could be so easily manipulated into believing such fantastic claims. In some ways it reminded me of the frenzy I was told about in 1930's Germany against the already hated Jews and Gypsies. We've come too far in 50 years to allow this type of hate to enter back into American discourse.

POPSThe Reality of Ayers There is a quote from a movie and book whose title escapes me "The past is like a foreign country. People do things differently there." To people who grew up in the 60s and 70s although people who did what Ayers did were wrong and on the fringes, we understand the anger. Think of people's anger today at terrorism and remember that many were that angry at the US government. Think of parents who wouldn't let there children watch the news because of the death and destruction that came every day. Think of riots at political conventions and in the streets of cities across America. Think of the fear of nuclear attack from a volatile and powerful Russia. What Ayers did was wrong and should, by all rights have been punished. It was not, however, today.
