POPSSquare Enix's Next Fantasy: Owning Tecmo 'Tis the season for videogame industry consolidation. Analysts and industry experts continue to point out that that's the theme in the current growth cycle. Big companies will continue to snap up little companies (allowing more indies and veteran-helmed start-ups to flourish) for the foreseeable future. I personally don't spend much time following the Japanese market (outside a few key players of course), but from a snap judgment assessment, it seems like a good pairing. It would give Square Enix's limited portfolio of games outside the role-playing genre a boost, and it would also provide a safety net for Tecmo, which recently lost its rock star Tomonobu Itagaki ("Ninja Gaiden"). The real question: Is Tecmo worth acquiring sans-Itagaki?

In a study by Robert Leeman of Yale University students reported they were more likely to engage in risky sexual acts after drinking - which could be due to alcohol lowering our inhibitions through a direct effect on the brain or by providing a convenient excuse for such behaviour.

POPSCooliris Lets You Enable Your Web Site For 3D In Minutes Now, in addition to the "full featured" option on Cooliris's Developer page, there's a new "Quick and Simple" option that promises to work on most sites. All you have to do is enter in your URL, and, after some tests are performed, you're provided with an XML file and some embed code to add to your site. The entire process is said to take about ten minutes, but in our testing, it was even quicker than that.
