POPSNot All Democrats Want To Ride Obama's Coattails historically Republican House seat, "hasn't had time to be concerned with presidential politics" and won't be going to the Democratic convention, his spokesman said. But there may be more than busy schedules involved in some Democrats' reluctance to be associated with Sen. Obama. eing an Obama cheerleader may not be an asset," Mr. Gonzales said. In Georgia, Democrat Jim Marshall represents a solidly Republican rural district and typically neither endorses his party's candidate nor attends its conventions. Sen. Obama's coattails could be helpful to challenger Jim Himes in the Democratic-leaning Greenwich, Conn., district represented by Christopher Shays, a Republican. Political oddsmakers call the race a toss-up. Among the most vulnerable are 26 freshman Democrats and one freshman Republican. A few of those Democrats facing tough races already have signaled their ambivalence toward Sen. Obama, the Democratic candidate.

POPS8 Fictional Characters Who Died Too Early Well, I can not say I agree with the list all in total (Segal was not a big loss and a Video Game Character???) but overall, a well-reasoned list. A few key actors or roles I would have considered: Powers Booth in Red Dawn Orrie Main (Patrick Swazey) in North & South: Book III Laurence J. Fishbun in Deep Blue Christian Slater (no, not David Arquette) in 3000 Miles to Graceland Drew Barrymore in Scream Joker (jack Nicholson) not too early in the movie but in the series! George C. Scott in Taps. Morgan Freeman in The Sum of All Fears... Just a few off the top of my head and I am sure we all can think of others but this is a wonderful site for lists and this one (other than foe the inclusion of a video game) is a good list.

POPSDemocrat tied to Obama wins special election in Mississippi More: The special election was held to fill the seat of former Rep. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), who was appointed to serve out the remainder of Sen. Trent Lott’s term last December. Wicker had never faced a competitive race since first elected in 1994, and the district gave President Bush 62 percent of the vote in 2004. The results amount to a rebuke of the Republican strategy of trying nationalize the race by tying Childers to Sen. Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Obama held low approval ratings in the district, but the nearly $2 million that GOP groups poured into northern Mississippi failed to make the race a referendum on the national political landscape. A GOP House leadership aide told Politico last week that “if we don’t win in Mississippi, I think you are going to see a lot of people running around here looking for windows to jump out of.”

POPSOsama bin Laden A woman from Austin , who was a tree hugger and anti-hunter, purchased several acres of Hill Country land, near Lake Travis , Texas . There was a huge tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted to view the natural splendor of her land, so she climbed the tree. As she neared the top, she encountered a spotted owl. It attacked her! In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground. The ensuing fall incurred several splinters of wood in her crotch. In considerable pain, she hurried to the nearest doctor, 35 minutes away. She told him she was an environmentalist and anti-hunter and how she came to receive all of the splinters. The doctor listened to her story with great patience. He then told her to go into the examining room and he would see if he could help. The impatient patient sat, and waited for three hours before the doctor reappeared. The angry woman demanded, "What took you so long?" He smiled and said, "Well, I had to get permits f

POPSThe Stories of Homeless This is a site where they have a audio forum where they allow you to hear people stories in 5 minute clips. The audio clips cannot be... clipped. Go to source. Everyone has a story. I think that listening to peoples stories helps stop the thinking that all homeless are bums, or that those in poverty are there due to their own irresponsibility and hurting everyones pocket books. That they are all the same in this regard. These stories show that people are diverse , and that is true with every class, and every human being. We are all different.

The Russo-shepherded truths are self-evident. suddenly understand the culture of corruption. Less than two minutes into the film, Russo has nailed together the events of the unconstitutional personal income tax (February 1913 fraudulent ratification of the insufficient 16th Amendment) and the unconstitutional Federal Reserve (December 1913 illegal delegation of one of Congress' essential legislative functions -- the coining and valuing of money).
