POPSCheney Caught in Plame Game? 72 Times "Can't Recall" Liar with selective memory--Remember this was about the vindictive and illegal outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame for Ambassador (and her husband) Joe Wilson's NY Times editorial article contradicting the lies of "yellow cake" uranium from Niger to Saddam Hussein to "prove" WMD and launch a war. Among the most basic questions for Cheney in the Plame probe: How did Libby find out that the wife of Bush administration war critic Joseph Wilson worked at the CIA? Libby's own handwritten notes suggest Libby found out from Cheney. When Libby discovered Cheney's reference to Plame and the CIA in his notes - notes that Libby knew he would soon have to turn over to the FBI - the chief of staff went to the vice president Transcripts plus more from CREW's lawsuit here.

POPSBob Novak dies of cancer -- and his right-wing pals rush to lie about his role in the Plame case WTF? It's long been an established fact that Novak's reportage was wrong, and in fact was just a propaganda-driven smear on behalf of the Bush administration, since Plame in fact had nothing to do with Joe Wilson getting the Niger assignment. (George Tenet himself explained: "Mid-level officials in CPD decided on their own initiative to he'd helped them on a project once before, and he'd be easy to contact because his wife worked in CPD.") And since when has it "turned out" that "Bush was right" about the Niger yellowcake? Not only was the report on which he based the claim he made in the State of the Union built from set of hoax documents, but the White House ignored warnings that this was likely the case. Moreover, there has been no subsequent evidence to suggest that Saddam indeed sought yellowcake from Niger. Ah, but such things as facts and truthfulness m

POPSObama asks Supreme Court NOT to hear Plame appeal Is there a more ungenerous, ungracious president in your memory? He looks very small when he talks about the “mess” left by Bush, while adopting his policies. Google “Obama agrees with Bush on Plame” & count the news outlets covering it. ZERO. unless you’re looking at stuff from 2005, in which case you’ll find tons of articles from Time, Newsweek and the rest decrying the “outting” of a Langley desk jockey; another of those “great moral imperative” stories that seem, well, so unimportant, now that Obama is president.

POPSHow Many Former Bush Administration Officials Sentenced To Jail Time? Eight And Counting
FTA: *For obstructing the Senate investigation into Abramoff and for tax evasion, Italia Federici, a political aide to then Secretary of the Interior, Gail Norton, received a two month sentence in a halfway house. *Fedrici's boyfriend, Steven Griles, who was the number two official at the Interior Department, also received 10 months in jail for his part in the Abramoff scandal. *Bob Stein, the comptroller of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq, received the longest sentence of any Bush official (as of yet) - nine years in prison for money laundering, conspiracy and bribery. *Brian Doyle, a deputy press secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, was sentenced to five years in jail for attempting to use a computer to seduce a child. That] brings the total number of Bush administration officials who have gone to jail already to at least eight," Maddow said. "That is not counting all the other convictions that didn‘t result in jail time, all the other investigatio

POPSThomas Tamm - Leaker and Criminal When the Obama Justice Department gets operational, the new Attorney General will decide whether to continue investigating Tamm. That decision presumably will be made with guidance from the White House and President Obama. Obama was a vocal opponent of the terrorist surveillance program, although he ultimately voted for Congress' authorization of a very similar program in the midst of the presidential campaign, angering many on the left. Obama will have to decide whether he wants to uphold federal law and protect sensitive information by vigorously pursuing people like Mr. Tamm who violate the public trust.

POPS'civilian security force'? This is in response to 9/11 and the war on terror. This is all well and good, but what if 9/11 was an inside job? We already know that they lied to get us into a war. Remember Valerie Plame? Where are the careers of Karl Rove and Tony Blare now? We must ask ourselves, 'who gains from these actions?'

POPSScott McClellan: Bush Outed Plame, Lied About Iraq War The former press secretary in this 11/15/08 Book Fair press conference captured on CSPAN makes very clear, again, that Bush himself confessed to a conspiracy, enacted via Cheney and Scooter Libby, to ILLEGALLY out CIA agent Valerie Plame (for political vengeance) as well as the blatant lies and propaganda campaign to justify the Iraq War. Bush and Cheney, based upon this, should be tried in criminal court for treason, or the appropriate charges for breaching CIA agents identity and for deliberately lying to justify the Iraq War. THE STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS DOES NOT EXPIRE UPON LEAVING OFFICE FOR THESE HIGH CRIMES, WHICH ARE NOT MISDEMEANORS.

POPSNot President's Job to Make US Popular This is one American I COULD support for the Presidency of the US! "Maybe the time is overdue for NATO to try to rehabilitate itself and for Americans to stop trying to be "citizens of the world." Oh Yes! A true American stands up and dares to speak the truth. No "Afro-American" here.

POPSRobert Novak When not outing Valerie Plame, he's busy running down old guys. He needs to go hunting with Dick Cheney.

POPSBush, Mukasey, Cheney Claim Exec Privilege, Obstructing in Plame Case But the Executive has no "privilege" to violate the law, nor to obstruct justice. And Cheney, by his own words, is not part of the "executive branch". Mukasey, the new AG replacing Alberto (Speedy) Gonzales, shows why he was chosen by Bush, i.e. to continue to obstruct justice. As even republican federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald said on the Plame case, "a cloud hangs over the VP office", and Scott McClellan just opened up and published his account that Bush personally admitted authorizing the Plame leak! This is stonewalling to avoid prosecution for a "high crime" worthy of impeachment by George and Dick both.

POPSSecrecy by US government is the most dangerous When our own government has so much to hide, it becomes clear, that the gravest danger that this once great nation is facing, is not terrorism from abroad, but the terrorism perpetrated by our own institutions.

POPSDid Valerie Plame Wilson Commit Perjury? But, that is no excuse for the Valerie Wilson-Plame to sit in front of a Congressional Committee and LIE like she did. This is what Valerie Plame said sworn testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform: Plame also testified that she played no part in deciding to send her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, on a mission to Niger in 2002 to assess the reliability of reports that Iraq's then-president, Saddam Hussein, was trying to buy yellowcake uranium from that country for use in a secret nuclear weapons program. Some CPD officials could not recall how the office decided to contact the former ambassador, however, interviews and documents provided to the Committee indicate that his wife, a CPD employee, suggested his name for the trip. The CPD reports officer told Committee staff that the former ambassador's wife "offered up his name" and a memorandum to the Deputy Chief of the CPD on February 12, 2002.

POPSIt Must Suck Being Joseph "Yellow-Cake" Wilson IV Now! In his speech, Ambassador Joseph Wilson described himself as the investigator sent to Niger by the government and says the government sent him there and not the CIA (a lie). Wilson said there was nothing to the uranium story (another lie), described the US as "occupiers" of Iraq (a shocking statement at the time), and described a conspiracy to help Israel dominate the Palestinians. Joe Wilson repeated the lie for several years that the Iraq was not seeking uranium from Niger even though five days after Wilson's NYT op-ed, George Tenet put out a statement describing how the person the CIA sent to check out the Niger story (Joe Wilson) found that the Iraqis had indeed tried to open up trade talks, which were interpretted by government officials in Niger as an attempt to purchase uranium ore. POPSPresident Bush exonerated of 'misleading statement's.... Can't deny the facts that are finally coming out. Those who opposed the war will never concede or believe...but time will reveal all the information. My NIL was there. He saw. The American press sooooo wanted to denigrate the President and his decisions. I acknowledge all did not go well, but no one is omniscient. I stand by what the President has done and his reasonings behind it.
