POPSAmerican Socialism & Chinese Capitalism
We have urged China to join us in our quixotic attempt to prevent global warming. She has refused, arguing that her per capita consumption of energy is the lowest of any industrial country. Except for the leftist economists, economics tells us that we should let the prices of different energy sources determine when a new source is ready for development. No subsidy would be required if we let the market make the decision. Totalitarian China accepts this approach; free market U.S. takes the Soviet prescription. American firms are currently not investing in the United States. Net non-residential investment is barely enough to replace capital that is wearing out. Instead, billions have been wasted by corporate managers who have been engaging in such foolishness as buying back corporate stock. All this does is increase share prices that will supposedly justify management bonuses when earnings stagnate. Even banks did this throughout the run-up to the financial crisis, . . . . .

POPSFor Immediate Release iowahawk He encouraged independent God developers to support the closed-source iGod / iGov health care platform , warning that "woe be unto the unlicensed app developer, for he shall be smote by a vengeful hail of ACORNs." Other iGod apps currently in beta test include an end-of-life calculator, income leveler, and a wireless database detector for anti-government heretics and apostates. "I believe this exciting health care partnership opportunity with the Almighty will be every bit as successful as our previous peace partnerships in the Middle East, and will pave the way for an eventual merger," said Obama. No date has been set for Government-God merger plans, but the FTC has signalled it would give quick approval. To finance the project, Obama said US Government would seek US$2 trillion in a 103rd round of involuntary venture capital. Headquartered in Washington DC, U.S. Government (NASDAQ: USAGOV) employs over 4,000,000 full time workers . . .

POPSWas Zappos forced to sell by venture capitalisists? Too bad - it's the risk one takes when you give decision making power to those lending you money. Amazon does a good job but will not improve Zappos service and cannot favor them over other sellers unless Amazon thinks it can become what Federated Department Stores/Macy's once was.

POPSWas Zappos forced to sell by venture capitalisists? A big hesitancy i've always had about raising venture capital money is that i would lose control of decision making for Amplify and Clipmarks - in regards to things related to user experience as well as if/when to raise money and/or sell the company. That said, additional resources sure would help. At this point i think we've raised about $136M less than Ning :)

Here are the other ERAB members and their interests/positions on cap-and-trade: * Austan Goolsbee as staff director and chief economist (Obama administration); * William H. POPS Al Gore Lies To Congress (Part 2) Goldman Who? In mid-2008 — six months after Gore joined the venture capital firm of Kleiner Perkins as a partner — Kleiner Perkins joined Goldman Sachs in financing a company called Terralliance — an oil exploration firm! As Fortune reports, Kleiner’s dirtying its hands in the oil patch was something of a head-scratcher. Back then the firm had recently hired Al Gore as a partner. But money is money, oil was trading for $140 a barrel, and Terralliance was said to have developed software that reduced the risk of drilling dry holes. It looked as if Terralliance could be a moneymaker for Kleiner, which had sunk a total of $65 million into the venture, an extraordinary sum for a VC firm — possibly its biggest single investment ever. But less than one year later, Terralliance has faired poorly, burning through hundreds of millions of dollars, according to Fortune.

Are you a lobbyist? Are you the face of their public relations efforts? Is your job to run around scaring politicians and the public into enacting greenhouse gas regulation? 4. Is Kleiner-Perkins’ business plan to have you press for legislation and regulation favorable to its clients in order to make them more attractive and available for sale to the public, at which time Kleiner-Perkins would cash out, leaving the public invested in not-ready-for-prime-time companies that have dubious financial prospects and that are dependent on taxpayer subsidies? 5.
