POPSDEAR CONGRESS: YOU WORK FOR US! f you stick to these guiding lights, you can't go wrong. Mr. President and members of Congress, I've kept it simple for you: BALANCE, CUT, SAVE. That's what should guide you in your decisions in the week's ahead. My family can't afford the decisions you are making on my behalf so I am signing this petition to remind you of what is important: My Family, My Country And My Freedom. Thank you and God Bless America

POPSHow Dare They Call It Socialism! We spend more than double than the entire rest of the world, taxpayer dollars given to a government entity "for the health and "safety" of all citizens." "Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes … known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few.… No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare." — James Madison, Political Observations, 1795

POPSPork-Barrel Orgy at Home, Obama Hammers Defense Waste
Speaking to an audience of military veterans, President Barack Obama called for cutting wasteful defense spending and for reforming the way defense industry does business. “Every dollar wasted in our defense budget is a dollar we can’t spend to care for our troops or protect America or prepare for the future,” he said Monday. Obama really let if fly when he talked about the need to reform the “defense establishment,” calling wasteful defense spending an “affront” to the American people and the troops. Using a similar approach the administration has used in its arguments to pass health care reform, Obama singled out “special interests, contractors, and entrenched lobbyists” who oppose changes to the status quo. “They’re putting up a fight. But make no mistake, so are we.” He vowed to cut any weapons program that doesn’t support the troops in the field or underperforms. http://www.dodbuzz.com/2009/08/17/obama-hammers-defense-establishment/

POPSIs Government Health Care Constitutional? The right to privacy conflicts with rationing and regulation . It is true, of course, that forms of rationing already exist in our current system. No one who has experienced the marked reluctance to treat aggressively lethal illnesses in the elderly can doubt that. However, what may be permissible for private actors -- including doctors and insurance companies -- is not necessarily lawful when done by the government. Obviously, the government does not have to pay for any and all services individual citizens may desire. And simply refusing to approve a procedure or treatment under applicable reimbursement rules, as under the government-run Medicare and Medicaid, does not make the system unconstitutional. But if over time, as many critics fear, a "public option" health insurance plan turns into what amounts to a single-payer system, the constitutional issues regarding treatment and reimbursement decisions will be manifold.

POPSThe difference is, Mr. Allie... ... is that Obama's spending is on good, useful stuff that will help everyone in the US, not garbage, like Bush's massive, wasteful spending that only benefited the rich.

POPSObama to Spend $1 Billion on FutureGen
The Department of Energy on Friday announced that the FutureGen project is on track after all, committing federal stimulus money to advance the project to its next stage. One reason: It was the only shovel-ready project that fits the requirements of the stimulus bill. Administration officials and the project’s other big backer, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), insist that’s not an earmark at all, as promised " because the stimulus bill doesn’t specifically name the FutureGen project as a recipient of the money. But others say that’s a distinction without a difference " that FutureGen is merely an earmark by another name, a project that had powerful patrons, funding straight out of the stimulus bill and requirements for the money targeted so narrowly that only a few projects would fit the bill. The funding is attracting harsh criticism from Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), who will release a report Tuesday blasting 100 wasteful projects in the federal stimulus spending.

POPS0bama Executive Order Limits Federally Funded Construction Spending to Union Shops The Stimulus was a payoff to the union bosses. It directly harmed the U.S. taxpayer to benefit Democrat cronies. Now that's change we can believe in. The combination is a festival of waste, fraud and mismanagement, topped off with a wonderful return-on-investment for the union bosses. The Porkulus package was not temporary, was not targeted, and it certainly didn't create any jobs. That's why even *Joe Biden admits that it's a failure. And the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) puts current unemployment (U-6) at a shocking 16.4%. http://www.onepennysheet.com./?p=19938 *When serial gaffer Joe Biden reports that our government brain trust "guessed wrong" relative to said recovery, then we all know there is trouble in Dodge City. http://greensrealworld.blogspot.com/2009/06/even-biden-notes-stimulus-not-really.html

POPSHealth care bill has lots of PORK · Subsidize community projects like building jungle gyms in parks. "Some of these programs may have value, but this is the wrong bill at the wrong time," Enzi said. "With our nation's health and economy at stake, this bill must not turn into a Christmas list for every partisan interest group in Washington." On a side note, I can't wait until Connecticut voters exile Sen. Chris Dodd to his Irish cottage next year.

POPSWhat Hinders YOUR Obama-adulation? We witness the dying-off of Mr.&Mrs. John Citizen. Tradition. Values. Those people in that ranch-style home on the suburban lane; the family in that bungalow and their thousands of neighbors in every corner of the city; or those farms and scattered homes out on the road to the next town; in the many homes and apartments, most believed in what made America strong and free and in sustaining that for a lasting America. They were Democrats and they were Republicans. That was not the main issue. It was the body of America vs. people with subversive notions, Communist sympathizers, or any other loony or dangerous ideas. Differences were to be discussed and decided, and then all came together to face down those that would undermine us. Not any more.

POPSObama Walks The Healthcare Road (cont) Much of the evidence suggests that the more doctors, more drugs, more tests and more therapies given to patients, the worse they fare -- and the unhappier they become, said Donald Berwick, president of the independent research group Institute of Quality Improvement.

POPSObama Cuts Military Spending while Domestic Spending Once again "Barry" signs legislation designed to make us less safe citing "wasteful spending". Isn't that like the pot calling the kettle black? This logic coming from the President who is singlehandedly bankrupting our nation. Why doesn't he and the rest of those capital hill socialists cut some of the PORK out of their recent PORKULUS bill? And while they are about BUDGET cuts why not SCRAPE the recent 900+ page cap and trade bill they are trying to push on American business. This would be laughable if it were not so serious.

POPSRebuilding the Republican Party And what about moderates? I know this won’t make me popular with the Republican base, but we have to make every effort we can to get as many moderates into the Republican Party as possible. Let’s bend on any issue necessary and soften our rhetoric to get every squish behind us. Let’s even invite Arlen Specter back; we can tell him we were wrong and trillions in wasteful spending is a great idea right now. We need all the moderates we can get to join us, because when everything goes to hell, they’ll be a great source of cheap labor and — in a worse case scenario — food. So for the future survival of the party, moderates are very important.

POPSThe Future of the Republican Party In the post-apocalyptic wasteland, resources will be scarce and the strong will crush the weak — and frankly, those are conditions in which Republicans should thrive. The Republican Party will need to cement its rule through force, destroy the weak, and take their resources. Back to basics for the party, really. POPS Tea Party 2.0 Kicks Off This Thursday May 14th 8:30 PM Republican Governors Mark Sanford of South Carolina and Rick Perry of Texas will host a tele-town hall this Thursday to recapture the spirit of April’s tea parties. Thursday’s call will serve as a springboard of support for the conservative movement to reduce wasteful government spending. RGA Executive Director Nick Ayers said: “Our Republican governors are best positioned to lead on these issues. We don’t have to wait until 2010 to send a message to Democrats in Washington that they are spending too much and borrowing too much.” The tea party 2.0 is set to kick off May 14th at 8:30 pm EDT on Thursday evening. If you would like to join the tele-townhall register at the RGA’s website: For more info: Visit the RGA 'Fight for Freedom': www.thegopcomeback.com/freedom

POPSKeep Obama's Military Budgets Clean! The President and the Secretary of Defense are calling to cut wasteful weapons and invest in things that make us truly strong. But some of your colleagues want to add over $2 billion in funding to the President's supplemental spending bill for Iraq and Afghanistan. The extra money is to be used for things we don't need - like C-17 cargo planes Secretary of Defense Gates specifically asked to CUT from the budget. As your constituent, I ask you to oppose any add-ons that increase the cost of President Obama’s Iraq/Afghan funding bill, and keep future military funding bills clear of pork-barrel spending. We’ve got a chance to change America’s priorities, let's use it.

POPSHey Look Here! Spending Cuts! Get out your magnifying glass. This one is going to be hard to see. To think the government actually hails this farce as an actual attempt to curb spending. When is the American public going to wake up. It is time we call for some REAL SUBSTANCE and not Rhetoric. He talks a good game but like most of Obama's other policies this is a graphical representation of how lame Obama's attempts really are to address any real problems.

POPSGov. Hand-outs Bankrupting Arizona Another example of what happens when too many people look to government for give me's. They come to the state house with the hands out and not with their sleeves rolled up. Instead of offering to work to produce wealth they are asking that it be redistributed. This sounds much like GM to me. Workers come to management and say give me. Management gives in and gives until they can not give anymore. With the government passing laws that does not promote fiscal responsibility it only compounds the problem. But sooner or later it comes time to pay the piper. Watch out folks this same crisis is spreading across this land at an alarming rate. There is a wild fire burning out of control. A fire extinguisher is not going to stop this inferno.
